Do you write just ski related articles, or are you a freelance writer covering many topics? I subscribed to Ski Canada for one season - any contributions to that magazine?
Am I correct in that you wrote the article on Snowdogskier posted a couple weeks ago? I still can't get over that collection -- I had to show it to my wife to prove there are at least a few people more obsesssed than I!
As a magazine writer, it is shocking to look at the the reprinted stories and see those reams of copy devoted to technical detail of the highest order. I met Ettlinger once, he was a legend in binding and ski safety (and still is, I believe he works with Jasper Shealey). That GKO3 Head was indeed a beginner ski; Head radically changed their graphics (and likely construction) that year; before, the skis were numbers (160, 320, 360, 720 - anyone out there have those old purple Killys - I think they were the 666 - what, a devil ski? Maybe 660. Burgundy, with silver 'pop art' dot cosmetics. That Gart Bros catalogue is a real classic.
