Is cheap lodging at Snowbird possible?

Just giving it one last try before I settle that perhaps I have to be riding the bus daily from Salt Lake City. The advertised deal on their website for $99/day (which includes ski lift tickets) is for two people only. And I am one only!

You can do a dorm room at the Peruvian Lodge at Alta for the late season rate of $103. I don't think it includes a lift ticket, but it does include your meals. I believe you can pick up a super pass for 3 or more days at about $47/day that's good at Alta, the tram at Snowbird, and also Brighton and Solitude, but you can use it all at one area if you want. They may also have discount tickets at the Peruvian. You can ski or take a shuttle back and forth to the Bird from there.

$103 is a bit too high for me.

$47/day for ski lift, not for lodging... or were you still talking about lodging?

You were asking about single person options, and the Pervian is the only one I know if you want to stay up Little Cottonwood Canyon. Not sure how they compare total price-wise, but $99 at the Bird for a room and ticket still leaves you needing 3 meals a day at their greatly inflated prices. I figured that $103 a day at the Peruvian for a room and 3 meals. plus the cost of a Super Pass, would come out pretty close to what you would spend at the Bird if you bought all your own meals. It's probably more than the $99 deal, but may be the only option for a single.

I don't think you should expect to stay on-mountain for less than $150 a day for lift/lodging. At least the Peruvian deal includes meals. If $150 is too steep, then you should look into commuting from Sandy/Midvale. You can probably get that down to $100/day for lifts/lodging.

The Peruvian will usually put a single in a Nordic room for about $20 more a night than the dorm in low season.

Central reservations at Snowbird doesn't really have much incentive to cut you a deal. I've had much better luck just showing up and talking with the front desk crew. I usually end up in one of the "bunkers" at the Cliff or a studio at the Inn for around $125/night low season .

If you can wait until May, this is a pretty good deal!

i was looking at the same deal and can't get any of my buddies to come along this late in the season....I would be willing to split this with you if you don't mind..it's not a bad deal because it comes with 2 lift tickets...so $50 per person for a place to sleep and a lift tic...what do you say?

I am interested in this too. When are you planning to go there?

BTW eyecon, I think you got it wrong, it's $99 each lodging+lift ticket. Still a great deal.

Dates? I might make my schedule work for a Sat-Tue trip if I plan it a couple of weeks in advance. Send me a PM to keep talking.

I think the two of you should try that, since I will be there Monday to Friday instead. I opted-out of this $99 deal already, and was just minutes away from booking my reservation through Priceline instead. I'll be staying at SLC and riding the bus instead. Looks like bus #998 will be running; I spoke to the bus info person... and they are extending their bus service because of the snow they're having.
