18mm under the binding toe.

Can this cause the heel to launch upwards on turn exit?

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you are saying? Is your toe 18mm higher than your heel?? If so, that's crazy stuff, or is your toe just 18mm off the ski? in which case it makes no sense unless we know how high your heel is off the ski so we know the "differential" height.

Yes.

Pond skimming rig.

I wanted to run in in the pseudo-tuck of sitting bum-down on the tails, and it took 18mm toe lift to allow me to do that. Then I tried actually skiing the thing, with heel blisters and close to pulling clean out of the boot.

I am not surprised.... Glad you didn't blow your ACL's or something.

Oh my God. Are you trying to help your local orthopod pay their mortgage?

-shrug- I see sitting back on tails as a pseudo tuck move done quite often on snow; the slowdown at the water hit would actually contribute to righting of the upper body.
