Enjoy your moment, fischermh. Mark my words, youth will be served in these play-offs.

It's a good thing that the Rangers have a bunch of old Penguins cast offs otherwise they'd never score. We'll just have to sic Gary Roberts on their defense. He's old enough to stay up late.

I am just joking around with Matt and his comments about the Wings. I have been a Wings fan since the sixties. Don't worry, I am not over confident.

However, you characterization of the Wings being old is not correct.
There were so many doubters for all three of those Cups that the Wings won. They had some of the oldest teams on record.

Geritol or Ensure... doesn't matter. They still got the goods.

GO WINGS!!!! (Even if it is without Stevie Y - I still have not quite recovered - kind of like never seeing another Tiger game after Kirk Gibson was gone ).

My son is very upset at the way this latest series is turning out.

I don't think I'm going to be able to watch any more games. When ever I was watching the game, the Flyers scored. When I wasn't, the Habs scored. My son has informed me of how I factored into Montreal's defeat.

Fisch, this will all be over in a few weeks. Don't worry, I can handle the smack talk. I got it coming from you and a good friend in MI.

The Avs were no test at all. In fact, they played so poorly, there might be farm teams that would have challenged the Wings better. Pretty much like us and the Sens. No contest.

We each have another series to finish before the big dance. I actually hope Dallas comes through just so we hold home ice advantage, we'll see how that goes.

The kids don't mind getting hit, they laid out a few big ones of their own last night. Their biggest problem was they got frustrated and lost all discipline. The way they were taking penalties, I would of sworn they were wearing black and orange. Too many stupid penalties for undisciplined play instead of playing smart, physical hockey. Our D (both offensive and defensive) didn't even show up which compounded the frustration. I don't even want to discuss Malkin's lameass attempt at a penalty shot. WTF was that??!?!?

The roof comes off the Igloo Sunday.

Come on fischy, don't ruin the fun. It's all just chest thumping farce. The only sport I'm serious about is skiing. The rest is just entertainment. Except, of course, the Steelers. Now that's real life!!
Blasphemy Rob! Hockey is life, especially in the playoffs

If I was a Wings fan and had to ski in Ohio, I'd be bitter too. Damn, there I go talking smack again.

It's ALL tongue in cheek of course

It's been years since I saw the Pens live (Joey Mullen night during Mario's last year.) and the last time I saw Pens play-off hockey live, the Pens blew a 3-0 start to the Islanders. I better stay out of the igloo.

Pass the Geritol.

This bunch of kids that are the core of the Pens is a lot of fun to watch. I hope they can keep them together. There could be many more games for Lord Stanley's prize in the future.
And Ottawa was a challenge? At least the Avs had the rivalry to spur them on.

The Pens may see some cups, and then again they may not. Hockey is a funny sport. Many intangibles come into play in playoff hockey.

I am not sure I would trade Crosby and Malkin for Zetterberg and Dats. Hopefully, the Pens can past the Rangers.

Geez Fisch, I believe I said it right here in my above post:

There might be farm teams that would have challenged the Wings better. Pretty much like us and the Sens. No contest.

After the slam on skiing in the great state of Ohio, I missed you thread. Nice to know we think alike. Maybe we can hook up and ski a 7S next year. Of course, I am only able to handle your Mountain's bunny hill.
I can slam OH, I was born and raised there. Skied Boston Mills, Brandywine, Snow Trails til I was 20. Again, tongue in cheek...PA skiing isn't any better. Or maybe it's just slightly less crappy? Not sure
post #103 of 2560
I did not say you could not slam Ohio skiing, nor did I say it isn't true.

The Pens were excited about a 7 game winning streak. The Wings would be 8 and 0, if it wasn't for the soft goals Hasek gave up to Nashville.

That being said, any non-bandwagon Wings fan that suffered through the 95 playoffs, know it isn't over until the Cup is hoisted.

Let me know when you're coming over. I'd like to meet up and ski too. Perhaps I can talk you both into skiing Laurel. I have a good feeling about next season. If the State frees up some cash we could see Laurel with 100% snow making. That should make for an interesting day. There are parts of that hill I haven't skied for 2 decades for lack of natural. Of course the best that Laurel has to offer still requires about a 3 foot base of natural.
Sure. I skied 7S for the first time in late March. It was after a thaw and freeze and there was not enough snow to groom the Gunnar and the slopes around it. Ice washboards skiing was an experience. I was impressed with the way my Fischer's held an edge, but I should have worn a mouth guard.

In the late morning the sun came out and softened up the snow, and it ended up being a nice day.

Being poor, I appreciate that the 7S ski patrol comps passes for other patrollers.

You don't have to talk me into it at all. If it opens and the snow making is put in place, I may moving there as my home mountain. I need a change of terrain and from what I've seen on my bike, me likey.

Pens send the Rangers packing their golf clubs. The Flyers are up next. That's going to be a tough one. At least the Pens have home ice advantage. Boy, that's gonna be a physical series.

OK Fischer; Time for a THROWDOWN!
I am actually glad the Stars won. I think they are an easier team for the Wings to beat. There only hope is Turco, and I doubt that he can do it.
The Wings are 3 and 1 against the Stars this season, outscoring them 13 to 4.

Turco has not beat Detroit in Detroit and is 2 and 10 against the Wings.

Wings in 5 or 6. Wings in 4 against the Flyers in a rematch of the 97 Cup Finals.
What happened during the regular season is irrelevant in the playoffs....ask the Rangers.
Irrelevant is a pretty strong term. It is not a sure thing, but it is not a bad predictor.

A safe bet IMO

But for now, SCREW the WINGS!

Dallas Stars Objective #1:

Take out Johan Franzen the same way Brenden Morrow took out Milan Michalek

Nice hit. Don't count on the mule having his head down.

It seems like getting to tonight has taken forever, but that is what happens when you sweep your opponent.

World hockey spoiler below

Canada beat Norway 2-1.
4 to 1 after two. Turco isn't exactly a Wing breaker.
Like I said a month ago
