I can't believe there are actual Ranger fans.... Tog had such a promising future before this came to light ;-)
I watched Carter playing for the Soo when my co-worker's kid was playing for them. A man among boys..he was that good. Effortless. A real joy to watch him.
The game is on NBCSN so we don't get it. Went to watch it at Buffalo Wild Wings here in PA. Place was pretty much dead except for four ladies at the table next to the five of us also watching the game. Got to talking to the most animated of the four in the parking lot after the second period. Turns out she used to baby-sit Jeff Carter hence why she was so into the game. And she just moved to PA from Canada to take on a new job...Medical Director for the Penguins.
She said she heard Tortorella might be hired as coach, but if he did she'd probably get fired day one because she wouldn't be able to keep her mouth shut and doesn't like his shot-blocking style.
It's obvious he's ignoring the importance of listening to the medical staff on how to win hockey games..
Quick was hardly the problem against Finland. He really needed some help when facing a better team. But no one from the US team showed up .
Expect the Rangers will rebound tomorrow, should be a good game, no one likes to be swept.
I see my therapy didn't work.... Don't worry. Took me three years...
Congrats to the Kings. Would have been something for NY to come back from 0-3 games TWICE deep in the playoffs and cup finals. LA was just too much muscle for them and muscle with great skill to boot. Rangers could hang 2-3, sometimes 4 periods, but just ran out of gas in the end from being outsized from end to end of the ice. Had their power play been better they might have had a chance though!
