I'm not following that? Right now the shootout is the same as a regulation/overtime win. In this format, it's worth 2/3 of a ROW. Losing a SO gives you 1/3 of ROW, rather than half, as it is now. It would be worth it to try harder to win in regulation or at least OT, ie on the ice and not in a party game.
I'm not a fan of the shootout either, but I don't think it's going away.
What about going to 2 pt for ROW, 1 each for a tie, but still having a shootout so the fans get a winner. SO numbers can be the tiebreak.
I'd love to see all the numbers run for different scenarios.
