What, no hockey fans? - Page 59

Rossi, every game played isn't played against a first place team. Earlier in the season they struggled so to pull out a shootout victory to make it 7 in a row is a good thing, regardless of the opponent.

As far as Lucic goes, I am not saying to hit Miller or any other goaltender is a great thing, but it is far from being the worst hit in the world. Obviously Shanahan agrees. Shame on Miller's teammates for not having his back, if someone retaliated at the time, I would have been OK with it. Who are you to judge that I am not a fan of Hockey, only a Boston fan?  Something else we disagree on.

And the Wild continue to just plug along....now tied with Chicago for the best record in the West.  As said earlier, not getting my hopes up here cause it still feels a bit like smoke and mirrors.  Seems to be a common thread to this young season, a couple of teams are looking really bad, but everyone else is just hanging around the .500 mark, even the best teams are just a few games over.  First quarter of the season just has a bit of a weird vibe to it....

The new owner of the St. Louis Blues is Tom Galardi and he also owns Revelstoke Mountain Resort. I hope the hockey team makes money because the ski resort is a long way from profit.

beercheer.gif I'm hoping I can find a radio feed for tonights game. The Internet down here has been flakey so a video stream won't work frown.gif Lets see him net a hat trick in his welcome back party. Although I'm guessing its going to be more of about 16:30 of ice time and one assist.

Well he took the opening face off and scored his first goal by minute 5.....

Yep listening to the radio feed now. Crosby just picked up the assist on a goal from Free Candy. Speaking of whom, with his second goal this week he now tied his career high for goals in a season (two) all this week. He might actually reach three this season!

Chalk up another assist for 87!

that's 2 goals and 2 assists.....

I want to see the SO from Fluery and hats off to Crosby. Lets make it happen!

Done  biggrin.gif

Well the hats stayed on, but Fluery got a (what sounded like) well earned shut out. Crosby may still end up in contention for the Art Ross yet. Plus a game like this has got to instill the confidence within himself that he is back and 100%.

crgildart-- nice win for those canes. flyers were a little short but hey, good win nonetheless. they've only played each other like 20 times already!

just 5:24 into his first game back

Now if only he could grow a 'stache.

B's 9th in a row. Thomas stood on his head again. At the start of the night 3 points separated all 5 teams. That is a pretty tight early on race.

NYR Fan here, tough loss we had agains the Habs the other night but Im lovin the signing of Richards

Same thing I say every year about my squad, we need more toughness.... Then again im an old time hockey fan

10 in a row, another shootout win for the B's. Both goalies were awesome in both the extra period and shootout.Fighting is not the Sabres strong suit, but give them credit for trying to make a statement however.

For about another hour and a half (until the Blackhawks-Sharks game ends), the Wild have the best record in hockey biggrin.gif  Now lets see if I'm still grinning come April.....

Thankfully we could go with Harding in the nets rather than this guy.... What a kick though to be out on the ice with the team!

Great "Hockey Night in Canada" game last night!

I just love it when both my teams play each other, I can't lose  wink.gif

It was a wide open game right from the bell.....biggrin.gif

^^ I thoroughly enjoyed the first two periods.

How about Letang being bloodied by a cheap shot late in the third and then coming back out of the dressing room and onto the ice to net the game winner.

Yeah, that was pretty sweet.

Best of all I also will see the next two games as well, first Rangers then the Caps (Pens are not local to me)

Did they really run a line with Sid, Geno and Staal last week??? How's that for a line!

Cheap shot my ADZ.  It's hockey, not figure skating.  If you don't want to get checked stay off the ice.   If you want to play hockey, keep your head up  and know what's going on around you.  A cheap shot is Crosby giving someone a butt end in the face (from the previous game, shown on coaches corner between periods).

That being said, I'm sure it felt very good for him to score that goal  (even though I would rather he not have scored).

Two things make it dirty. One the fact that Pacioretty saw Letang and targeted him, this wasn't an incidental shot. And two, the fact that he lifted his elbow and went for Letangs head with his shoulder/elbow. He lifted his elbow so it would go right into the chin of Letang. It wasn't a case of having his head down, Letang knew the hit was coming he just chose to man up, shoot the puck, and take the shot. Just didn't expect Pacioretty to go all 2010 Matt Cooke on him. Plus if it wasn't a shot to the head, how did Letang end up with a broken nose? Here's the hit:

To compare. Pacioretty did almost the exact thing to Letang that Cooke did to get himself benched for the season last year:
