Side note before tonights festivities.....

What is with the B's anthem singer?  th_dunno-1[1].gif  nonono2.gif  eek.gif

He's got to be the worst I've EVER heard....how has he lasted this long??? (SERIOUSLY)

It is a devious ploy to psych out the opponents.  It appears to be workingbiggrin.gif

Oh, I'm loving this. I had resigned myself to thinking the Canucks had turned the playoff corner. Turns out they are who we always thought they were. Thomas has them completely befuddled. I still can't believe Boston's mediocre PK has wiped out Vancouver's razor-sharp PP.

(ok, I shouldn't speak so soon ...)

Rene Rancourt, lol ... he's awesome! Down to the fist pump. So bad that it's amazingly good.

This is my all-time favorite ... for reals, not for camp:

Rene's outfit is even more horrible than his vocals.

Looks like another Loooooooooooungo night for the Vancouver netminderS

The Hurricanes have a 12 year old girl that sings it.  She's been doing almost every game since she was 7

Nice!

Another night of shear domination(knock on wood!!).  Every line completely outplayed the Canucks. I realize that this only evens the series but they skated with their tails between their legs all night.  Burrows is a piece of work if you ask me. The B'shave neutralized the Sedins pretty well also. Hopefully they can keepbringing it and get back to Boston up 3-2.

I really like the shut out...  Good for Tim!, and it puts the Canucks in a position to wonder if they can score.

Still,  RL is a force to be reckoned.    Maybe the hard smooth ice in Vancouver will tip the scales to the home team....

again.

When the "home team" wins....I smile!

"Canada is OK,  but too many Canucks!"

Thomas is playing out of his mind right now, clearly running on all cylinders at this point.  He is definitely my team MVP so far. His confidence is`spilling over to the rest of the team.  Anyone check out B Orr waving the Horton #18 flag?  That was absolutely classic.

Game 5 will be so telling, I can't wait!

It can't get here too soon. Thay said on the morning news that Horton went into the locker room after the game and gave Peverley the game jacket. That must have been quite inspiring.  Looking forward to game five.   Dave

I can't say I really had strong cheerings for either team coming in, but I was originally leaning toward the Canucks. After Thomas body checking Sedin in game 3 and taking that whack at Burrows in game 4 I have turned to the Bruins side. I want Timmy T to hoist the cup now.

Hopefully by the end of the series all will become Bruins fans atleast until next year when the season starts.(Except Rossi Smash, I don't expect any love coming from that direction.)   Crgildart, I don't know the technical rules when it comes to a goalie, maybe they should not be allowed to hit since they really cannot be hit even when roaming out of the crease, but this clip just playing over and over is a thing of beauty. I only say this because of all of the other garbage that has been looked over so far. I wish the series was on tonight!

I will admit that I probably wouldn't like the Bruins as much if I had to put up with the crazy Boston fans day in and day out  I still refuse to like anything about the Patriots or Red Sux (also hate Yankees too though).  I've opened up some to the Celtics now that the 80s cold war with the Lakers seems to have softened a bit. But, Boston teams are way down the list in my favorites.

Crgildart you can hate all of my other hometown teams for whatever reasons you choose, that is your prerogative.  Just so long as you root for the B's to come back home up 3-2.  Puck drop in one hour and counting.  Go B's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Oh yeah, gotta go take my sedatives.

Not what I had in mind. The game 1+2 Canucks showed up and were flying.Alot of wonderful dives as well, pretty comical actually. My only question is how can Burrows get sent off for taking a dive and Lucic go off for tripping. That does not make sense that both can be called.Anyways, back to Boston for game 6.

What's with the 5pm game Monday (and hopefully NOT Wednesday!)

Seems kinda odd......  th_dunno-1[1].gif

That 5:00 time is west coast. The game is slated for the usual 8:00 start, and then again at 8:00 on Wednesday, yes Wednesday will be necessary. Just sayin'.

Yep, I hear ya. Refs need to grow a set.

On top of the ref thing, Burrows and Lapierre, who IMO are excellent hockey players, are drastically tarnishing their reputations all around the league with their horrible acting job on the NHL's biggest stage. The refs are catching on so the act will most likely stop sooner or later but the targets they have placed on their backs will last for a long time. Alot of players will be gunning for them each time they take the ice. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

yeah, actually that doesn't get me. Maybe I watch too much soccer ;-) But it is compatible to get tripped, and then throw your head back and arms up while you are on your way down. Embellishment.

I'd NEVER guess you were a B's fan by this statement....

Boston never does anything that might skate the edge of the rulebook, eh !  rolleyes.gif

The play in question can be seen here (I suck at embedding video evidently):

http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2011/06/10/video-milan-lucic-and-alex-burrows-renew-their-silly-hostilities-in-game-5/

The Canucks are a very un-likable team. This wasn't "getting tripped"... not even a little bit.

Looks like a slew-foot to me.  Maybe Burrows gave him too much of an opportunity by sticking his leg over the stick, but he clearly had his leg lifted.  Good call.

The Canucks are definitely unlikable.

I wasn't talking about that particular play ... I didn't even see game 5 ... just addressing the question that a foul and a dive can occur simultaneously. Remember, I watched Forsberg for many years! biggrin.gif

On that play, it just looked like refs getting the funny business off the ice, no matter who did what, "I'm warning you for the last time" etc.
