I hope the Penguins win simply because if they lose 80% of the active people in this thread will leave until next season. If Montreal also loses that number goes up to 85%..
Pittsburgh can hang around awhile longer too just so I'll have more people to taunt.
All kidding aside.... That would be OK by me too. My two favorites didn't make the playoffs. I could be happy for you if one of yours wins the cup just as much as if one of my kinda like teams wins.. Best of luck to your folks..
Blindside hit into the boards? The game is hockey, not Rollerball. And hockey does have fights and hip checks and blocked shots, etc.
Great hockey. Plenty of game 7's + lot of free hockey with several OT's.
Stupid Flyers with stupid Scott Hartnell (and his stupid fat face and stupid haircut) and stupid Chris Pronger. Not a Buffalo fan, but man do I hate those stupid players on that stupid team.
As a Sharks fans I can't argue with you in general (from a decade-long standpoint), although we at least made it to the Western finals last year and lost to the eventual Cup winners. I wouldn't call that falling apart.
This hurts a lot less with the Giants winning the World Series, of course.
Turned his back to him, let them play,it isn't like he skated at him either.Judgement call,I feel differently.
You forgot to mention the stupid Flyers fans. And stupid Briere.
And orange is a stupid color for a sports team.
Stupid black name plates and stupid white name plates on their jerseys
I can relate to the feeling. I don't think the Pens going into a must win 7th game is my idea of great hockey. I am surprised that the Pens are here at all but going up 3-1 then losing two in a row is not fun to watch. The Pens are a good team...that lacks offensive fire power. Kovalev and Neal are a bust. The Pens other offensive weapons are mute, jeez this team can't even gain the blue line on the power play. This team was playing such splendid hockey until the winter classic (damn them stupid Caps) then injuries changed the team from a well oiled offensive machine into a gritty defense playing team. We'll see how much grit is left. The Pens need a hero and some controlled desperation.
I'm with JohnL on the blind side hits. Cooke is out for this round, I think he should be out of hockey. Kunitz got a game suspension in this series.... deserved.
You're correct: Stupid Flyers fans (there I said it). One reason I despise them so much is how they boo'd the Cup when it was wheeled onto their ice last year. You can boo the Blackhawks or any other team, but you don't boo the f-ing Stanley Cup! Stupid gold chain wearing, Rolling Rock drinking, smelly fans with a stupid accent in a stupid town that might as well be in stupid New Jersey!
Now I'll have to watch them for 4 more games before they're swept aside.
And I obviously felt differently.
For the record, the one tonight was totally Halpern's fault. Bruin player had a right to his position and Halpern turned his head away from the player and skated into him. Stupid play on Halpern's part.
Wow... whole lot of hate in this thread.
Flyers fan here who didn't boo the cup last year, definitely took a shower today, has never thrown a battery at anyone and didn't throw snowballs at Santa. Just a guy who grew up watching the Flyers and is happy to see them still playing. Even if you don't like some of the players, how is that a reflection on me, the fan? I'm just rooting for my hometown team, they don't tend to consult me too often on personnel decisions. And yet you hate me, simply 'cause I still root for the team I grew up following? Who's the classy fan now, eh?
All I know is we're currently watching our 4th game 7 in 2 days, with 2 going into overtime so far. I'm sorry, this is fun, exciting hockey.
