I'm with Matt here. You can argue that Cooke is a dirty player or takes cheap shots and I might agree with you but what Cooke does is in the moment of the game. What the Isles did went beyond the hockey code and appears to be a premeditated act by management. They went after Talbot 3 times, once sucker punching him from behind another time the player was to be ejected from the game but was left unattended to go challenge Johnson. The other Islander goon blindside our player with an elbow to the head and after he went down in a heap continued to pummel him as he lay on the ice then when taken off the ice continued to taunt instead of heading to the locker room.
Ok I get going after Talbot once during the game. Have your stupid hockey dance, throw some punches against the helmeted head, pull up the sweater and fall to the ice and take your penalties but to go after a guy three times, screw your hockey code.
And this BS about avenging your goalies misfortune. Hey, they both threw down and the Isle's goalie got his smile knocked off his face. It was a fair hockey fight according to the hallowed, friggin hockey code. Fine and suspend all players and teams for engaging in any and all fighting and head shots and this will end.
Call Mario a hypocrite all you want but this is the state of this game and that is the league's fault, not the Pens.
