"It was a shootout and the gunslingers were all formidable."

The thread on TGR got me pumped, again.

THE best scene from any skiing movie, ever, period.

Thanks for the cool vid Lonnie. Good times and fun memories from back in the day. Gotta love the steep drops and "smear turns".

Plake is awesome. Nice duds too.

Great vintage footage. Guys were revolutionaries. Interesting to see the influence of the park nowadays with folks throwing tricks off of that stuff.

Looks like some great terrain, but I'm a little confused. They have a sign telling you to "keep out". If I go to squaw and ski them, will the patrol pull my ticket? From what I remember of skiing in Canada in the old days, you just hiked a little ways from the top of the lift and you could ski anywhere you wanted. Consequences were having to make your way back tramping down miles of thorns with you SGs so you wouldn't be torn to shreds if your ramblings ended up in the wrong location, but nobody was telling you you weren't allowed to ski there.

Unreal....these guys just killed it. Plake is still a legend and still spinning laps on KT-22.

a quick little known fact about that few second helmet cam seg in the shoot out vid where the skier skis past that orange 'danger keep out' sign, looks over the edge of a gnarly line, then shakes head 'no' and backs out.....that's not at Squaw. that's actually a rarely skied line at Kirkwood called "Patrolmans'.
