How Many Ski Days (non-Pro's)

So as of March 1 for the non-professionals, how many ski days do you have in and how many do you expect to end up with?
I'm an Ambassador, (my first year)I get a free pass but don't get paid. Am I a non-professional?

Last year I skied 74 days, have a full time job 2 hours from the mountains.

The past 7 years I have been over 60 day's.
I've got 8 in so far. (5 on skis 3 on board) Am headed to Tremblant with my son for a week in March and should end up with 14 or 15 total. We've been practicing our snow dance as we count down the days!

MaxCapacity,

You said, you "have a full time job 2 hours from the mountains." I think that makes you a non-professional. 74 days is impressive.

I'm finally going to get in a 20-day season, after averaging 12 per over the first five years in the league. now, if i can just lower that pesky ERA, i may have a shot at the cy young.

this saturday, by the way, will be day number 73 on skis, and mark the 6th anniversary of day number 1, at buttermilk.

thanks again, curtis capparrella of the aspen ski school.

Since I don't make enough money to pay for my travel expenses/training, don't even break even. I don't have a full time job but I am self employed with a business to run 4 hours from the mountain. Am I a Pro?

Let's see, 4 days at Utah (ESAII) 6 days in Vail, (vacation) and 2 days of free skiing so far, totals 12 days of my time. Include Clinics, and teach days, add about 35 so far. Then 5 more days expected in UT mid april and maybe 15 more days teaching or clinics probably will get close to 70.

35 days on mountain 12 in backcountry. Full time job but the boss is kind so I goof off a lot.
How many days have I skied since the 2nd of March 2003?

72.

34 in Oz
38 in Canada
Not as many as I would have liked. The weather and conditions in the east have kind of sucked this season...too cold and not enough snow. Hopefully March will bring a few storms, as it's warmed up considerably already.
I just filled in for last Oz season.... bad one this year only 40-50 days or so....

Usually I get 50-70.... in our short season that takes WORK! Especially as I don't work in the mountains at all...
I have 35 days so far, probably end up with 50 or so.

The higher my son moves up in racing, the more days I get( Oh yea and higher bills that go with it) :
Man, you all are making my 3 days on the snow really seem very pitiful.

Ho ho ho, I have the same kind of kind boss! But I'm way behind you, Lee.

24 days on mountain. 0 in backcountry. Itching for spring conditions to hit so I can switch to backcountry focus.

Just finished my first year skiing (I'm 48 for a little bit longer) and I have skied 47 days. (I'm from the flat lands of Indiana - so most of these ski days have been out west)

Tomorrow will make 28 all at Mt Baker. Lots more days left there. I'll be up at Whistler at least 5 days (on my express card) mostly in April and May. Mid June and July 4th at Timberline. I'm hoping to get some hiking for turns in the Cascades this summer too. I'd like to hit 50days, that would be a record for me. Last year got about 40.

::::::waving to another Hoosier::::: You're lucky to have that many days in. Where do you go in MI?

Last saturday was day 11. I hope to reach 13-15, if €€ will allow it. Else...
As for how many years, well, I put the skis on at age 6. I am now 38...

There is the adage, "Those who can do, those who can't talk about it!" Looks like The Bears both ski and talk about it.

About 40 so far. It's getting warm and the money is getting low so this may be it.

Where do you go in MI? </font>[/quote]I have skied twice at Paoli Peaks (a misnomer as it's only 300 ft verticle) and once at Perfect North which is not north but actually real near the KY border and 400 ft vertical, and once at Nubs Nob in Mi which is actually the nicest grooming resort I've been to so far.

I'm going to Perfect North with my brother this weekend (his 4th time skiing - just got him going) and then next week I'll be skiing at Mammoth CA thu, fri, and sat - woo hoo!

So i haven't skied a lot in the Midwest. This past year I went to Breck, Mt Hood (timberline), Copper, Beaver Creak, Big Sky (last week), Mammoth and that's about it. Been a very fun first year.

Where in Hoosierland are you from Jules?

We went to Perfect North in January and the kids and I went to Bittersweet in Feb. PN had the better grooming between the two. Next weekend I'm testing out Caberfae Peaks with our church youth group.

The cornfield in the northeast portion of the state.

That's real specific. If you are in the northeast then you are VERY flat indeed.

I knew I forgot - I also skied not west at Holiday Valley twice this past year.

It's gonna rain Friday at Perfect North - this hoosier will be there Saturday when it's supposed to be both cooler and not raining.

Hope it's not too soupy out there!
Okay, I'll sit tight at 21 days til the rain moves on. Got up this morning to the sound of wind on my window, and the weather channel gabbing about all that rain. Maybe tomorrow. I just hope it doesn't wash all the snow completely away! U.P. looking like they're getting a little, though!
