Would have been softer had it warmed up more. They take very good care of the snow at Belleayre. Lots of moguls. Belleayre is set up for many more weeks of fine skiing.
Yes. Belleayre can spend $1000 a day on snowmaking whenever it's cold enough in March, or even April, no matter how few tickets they're selling, because all of the operations at Belleayre are subsidized by the taxpayers of New York State.
Hunter has to face the fact that selling 50 or 100 tickets will not even pay the salaries of everyone who has to be on the job when the lifts are operating.
There may even be days when no one buys a ticket; everyone skiing has a season pass, and so the mountain takes in nothing.
