Hmmmmm... The race skis are using the Fischer race plate now. Interesting...
I'm pretty sure that they are using plates manufactured by Vist on the RD skis and the Tyrolia CP13 on everything else.

The plates on the skis in that pdf are definitely the plates that are on Fischer WC skis... I know they have always used VIST paltes before but the 2009 plates are quite different from VIST plates, but shockingly identicle to what I have on all of my Fischers (grooved mid-sections, front and rear retainers, center sliding screw allowing for vertical movement of the plate at the front and rear, and fixed screws underfoot... space between the front and rear plate). They are simple, yet impressively functional plates. Perhaps the Fischer partnership wtih Tyrolia has allowed for some shared R&D work? That is good news IMO - if it is true.

I thought the Red Raptor boot was pretty snazzy looking, I see they switched to black except for the clear stiffer model.

They couldn't make a really stiff durometer plastic with the red dye (as if the 150 isn't stiff!), Bode's boot is a 180 flex, they want the consumer boot to 'look like' Bode's boot, so a change had to happen. They aren't black, however, they are translucent Grey. Sort of like as if they made it out of the plastic used for a gallon of milk.

What is it with Bode and stiff boots? His boots were stiffer than everyone else's when he was on Nordicas too. He was the only skier to be in the Stiff Dobie (also a 180 flex I think)... everyone else was on Softs (150) or Mediums (160+).

I think Bode is what 6' 2'' 215-220 lb. Tree trunk legs. Lots of power for sure. He better be , right for a 180 flex. WOW!

I have a darker gray translucent Atomic boot. I'm trying to convice myself its not ugly , but I think I have to call it what it is. I'd be happy if my" ugly duckling" boots would just stop pinching in the heels. Repeated dremmels are getting closer thank goodness. Right heel needs a bit more tweaking.

Kinda wish the 130 was white like the 150 for next year - stands out a little more, but oh well. "Anthracite" 130's it is for me I guess.

You can find more overviews of the full line here: http://www.univie.ac.at/USI-Wien/ski/head.htm

Looks like the Mojo 90 is gone (replaced by the 94), Head finally has a cheater GS (ie no hole in the 'race' lineup between >23m and 14m). The XRC line is cut down to 3 skis (1100, which is likely the same as the 1200 from the past couple years; and the 600 and 300).
In addition to the usual suspects in the Mojo line, there's a Mojo "Mix" which looks like a ski for the aspiring park skier (by my guess it'll be a bit cheaper - doesn't have the fancy bases or constructions), probably a good business decision by Head, but not an interesting ski for most people around here.
Xenons go 4, 6, 8, 10 now.

Compared to his competition that is not that big. It has always surprised me that he craves stiffer boots and skis. Over the years has has become known for it.

Dam, anyone who have a best buy for a pair of boots with like 330-335 in sole, 150 in flex?

How did they get a shot of Hermann without Lange boots? :O
post #15 of 18
That would be a 29/ 29.5...

I know but have a hard time to find a pair of 150 flex, I have the Atomic RT CS 140 and they're to soft so I need something stiffer and tighter.

What I found interesting is the speed and tech specific versions of the ff20x.

I skied the SL and the GS two weeks ago.

Now, I don't race and I haven't ridden race skis for over 10 years.

But... after riding those, I now need a piste quiver consisting of Liquid Metal.

I've been skiing for over 30 years, competed on the IFSA BM tour and feel like I understand a bit about how skis feel.

I have never felt something so fluid feeling. I didn't know it was possible, actually.

water doesn't vibrate, it ripples. Going over those little bumps that you usually either blast through or bounce off feels like ripples in a silent pond.

I wants...
