2009 Lange boots

Hi,

I am interested in Lange's 2009 Comp Pro boots. There is a thread in another forum section on this subject where a lange guy claimed that they are the best boots ever made bla, bla, bla, but he didn't give us too much info on the new boots. I tried on this year's Lange HP fit boots and i know how they fit. My question is: what are the differences in fit (especially the heel width and instep height) and stance geometry between the current HP fit boots and next year's models? I am not interested in the full plug.

Thank you.

HP is the same shape for next year

the WC fit from this year is the plug, and that is slao staying the same for 2008/09

in addition for 08/09 2 more race boots are avail, both are narrower still then the WC fit from this year.

HP stays the same, new bells and whistles.

the new comp pro boot is on a 97mm last rather than the 98mm of the current HP fit, the world cup fit is on a new last called RL12 which is 92mm narrow, other than that i do not have the latest tech sheets through so do not know the other dimensions you were looking for YET

Did I see the same intro line you did for upcoming seasons'?

So we have 2 more boots from lange. That's the good news. The bad news is that fitting the plug with 92mm @forefoot will be a p.i.t.a. for you and your customers unless the lower resembles a human foot (it probably doesn't). The customers will probably come back to you with the boots you fitted because they were not perfect/comfortable. That's why i am considering the model with 97mm @forefoot.

Do not get worked up over what you cannot see. 92mm is a statement not a last. Boot marketing 101.

We have been selling the RL12 all year and it fits like a dream. In addition Rossi has had the exact same boot out all season on sponsored racers and it is a huge fit improvement on the existing Lange and Rossi WC Plug boots.

The shape of the lower is very similar to the Doberman 150 WC (straight last ). Just like a Doberman 150 there is plenty of material for custom shaping the interior dimensions. Yes it is narrow and low volume, but no narrower or lower volume than a Nordica Dobe, or Atomic Ti 150, or Tecnica RH 17/13. The last is very much foot shaped. These guys have done an excellent job with the last of this boot. Do not be put off by the #92. The RL12 will be available in 3 different flexes allowing for a version for mere mortals.

Now, the 97mm will be a much easier in store fit, however there is a trade off in horsepower and precision. In the same context, do not sweat the 1mm difference between the HP and the new 97. It is a completely different animal and a huge improvement in fit and skiing performance.

On fit differences, the heel is narrower, and the instep lower then the current crop of Langes.
