Good guess. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see one or the other this season.

I'm not totally sold on the 2009 aero rules. Seem overly complicated to me. It will be interesting to see how that plays out. The status quo, where even if your car is 3 seconds a lap faster passing is still very difficult, definitely would be good to change. The reality that in road racing a slower car can hold up a faster car isn't going to change though, and it is part of what makes the passes that do happen so high value. That isn't limited to Formula One. I would prefer for Formula One to eschew push to pass buttons and other pro-wrestling BS and allow the passes that do happen to continue to represent great driving skill and courage.

I have wanted to go to Montreal but it is so expensive. Grand stand seats are $300 x 5 for me, and they don't offer a Sunday only ticket, except for general admission, that I heard are not that great. I don't think I could submit my family to a weekend of racing. Plus hotels are out of site that weekend. May as well go to Monaco.

We often go to the Glen for IRL, Rolex Series & Vintage in the fall. Park in the infield, bring a grill a cooler and you are all set.

I don't care much for Nascar, but I here it is a good race.

Went to the USGP at Indy in 2006 and loved it.

Yeah doing the Canadian GP with family would be spendy or difficult or both.

I stayed in a hostel last time...not the nicest place to stay but by the time I'm done with the evening I tend not to care. Very cheap. The Metro makes it quick and easy to get to the venue.

This weekend I've seen the FPs and Qualifying, but I'm still a couple hours from seeing the race...getting impatient.

I did Indy on the cheap the first few years. Just went for FP and qualifying. Stayed 50 miles away for $50 and paid $20 a day to get into the speedway and sit anywhere I wanted. Then drove home and watched the race on TV. I even splurged and parked the car where I could see it from the turn 1 (4) grand stands. That was another $20.

I wonder if that will be possible ever again.

I do hope a GP comes back to the US, but it seems very, very unlikely at this point with the expansion of the schedule in Asia, the lack of any venues other than Indy that would meet snuff, and the indifference towards the sport here.

I finally got to watch the Malaysian GP. Speaking of passing, how about Heidfeld, Coulthard, and Alonso on lap 5.

Nah. All it takes is for Bernie to change his mind and it's on again. I'll bet there are some very specific criteria that must be met before he does so.

Wow. I've read about Lady Mosley before. Fine him $100 million.

Do you think he was calling one of the Ho's "Ron" as he whipped her.

LOL

It'll be interesting to see where this goes. There are a lot of people on this planet who'd like to see the guy dragged through the mud and well.

Interesting coincidence : His predecessor, Jean-Marie Balestre, who passed away last week, was a former waffen SS... He ran the FIA and FISA in the 70's and 80's.
Must be a job requirement...

Mosley involved in Nazi sex scandal

Check this out:

http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story...zi-sex-scandal

:Max Mosley, president of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile, F1's governing body, is facing intense pressure to resign from his post after being implicated in a Nazi role-playing orgy according to British tabloid News of the World.

The report detailed a five-hour "Nazi-style" orgy between Mosley and five prostitutes at a house in Chelsea. In a video on the newspaper's Web site, it shows a man identified as Mosley arriving at an apartment. The man is then greeted by a woman playing the role of a Nazi prison guard, checking his hair to see if he has been kept free of lice "at the other facility."

I wonder if the phrase "Hogan I'm varning jou" was used at any point:

Well I pulled it off and am going to Montreal. was ready to stay in Plattsburg, NY and commute the hour, but found a place right downtown that was semi reasonable. I heard too many good things about this race, the venue and the city the night before to miss it.

Being my season on skis will end this Sunday, I can start gearing up for this!:

Good that you didn't do that. Especially if you take the road more traveled (I-87) the crossing to and more importantly fro can really back up and be a PITA.

I'm jealous. Have a great time.

Skiboats!! Awesome!!!

Did anyone catch Windtunnel tonight?
The Max Mosely discussion was a little ................blunt. :

Kovalainen had me a little worried today.

Nice race for the red cars. Don't get too used to it though, the Macs will be back.

Anybody think it's time for the SC rules to be changed. Really too bad for Heidfeld.

The Renault situation had me chuckling today. Fernando DEMANDS a quicker car..... guess he forgot to demand that it be able to last the race distance

Yeah, glad HK is ok, that was a pretty nasty looking shunt.
I liked Ron Dennis comment about Kubica's nose.
Kovalainen's crash was a little bit too reminiscent of Ayrton Senna's. Whew, glad the results were similar.

The whole race I was pumped for Alonso, really thinking he had a tiny shot at Kimi, but Renault is, well.........Renault, and Kimi was unstoppable.

When I can't ski, its nice to have breakfast in bed with F1 to comfort me.

Yet.... but he will be relieved of his duties over the 'scandal'. Nearly everyone in the F1 community is calling for his ouster. He says he will retire after next year but will face a vote of confidence at a special meeting on June 3rd.

Personally, I agree with Yuki. Hookers, who cares? What's a little kink between..... business associates?
I don't think people would care so much if you tooka way the Nazi stuff.

Anyway, I don't think there's any guarantee that he will lose control of the FIA in June. I wouldn't count on him leaving next year either. He's already "left" once, but couldn't stay away. He's like the Terminator. You think he's gone, but he reboots, rises from the ashes and continues on his mission to ruin Formula 1.

Agree completely. The events that are organizaed alongside the F1 races are great as well. At the Bahrain F1 they flew in classic ferraris from around the world.

Great race in Turkey. It even included a pass for the lead! On the track! The whole race seemes a little inconclusive as to who has form now. Hamilton had a great race, but was hurt by qualifying and an exta pistop that Bridgestone required him to make. Heikki qualified well and then had a puncture at the worst possible time. Too bad for him. Massa didn't put a foot wrong all weekend. Was Kimi just bored? Where were the BMWs?

Yeah, fun race. I really enjoyed watching this one even though it was Massa's weekend.

Interesting wording by LH in the post race press conference I thought. Can't remember all his exact words but it started with, "I must tell you..... Bridgestone thought..." then he changed his mind on this phrase "...they said the tires would fail..." To me this sounded like a premeditated effort to spin the story as Bridestone's failure to provide a safe tire.

BBC reported, "Hamilton was forced to adopt an unconventional three-stop strategy because his driving style was putting unusual loads on his right front tyre, raising fears it might fail. Bridgestone advised McLaren on how long they felt the tyre was safe for Hamilton to drive on and the team decided he should make an extra stop as a precaution."

I was really taken aback by the thermal imaging cam or whatever they were calling it. During the race it showed that the tires fresh from the tires
blankets were just as hot if not hotter than the ones fresh from a stint on the track.

My vote for hottest 'Grid Girls' so far goes to Turkey

Does anyone else think that Honda's front winglets look a lot like.....

Gromit?

Got a laugh out of Peter Windsor yelling to Flavio, "See you in the gym Tuesday." Then commenting to the audience, "That's a real thing you know. He really does go to the gym... as hard as that is to believe."

Also got a much more painful laugh out of Bernie. When asked why Super Aguri couldn't get sponsorship he responded that everything was just dandy with F1. We've got more sponsors than we know what to do with, we're just very selective: I'm sure Mr. Suzuki appreciates that.
Actually, Bridgestone said the same thing about the tires. That's also why Heikki couldn't top off the car and switch to a one-stopper after his puncture.

Indy 500 Comments

OK Danika's out of the race cause she got cut off. She's charging down pit row on foot to confront the other party that knocked her car out of the race and the officials cut her off at the pass. I'm trying to imagine the conversation, what the officials said to her to get her to stop her march and walk away.

First thing I think of is..

"Danika, what the heck do you think this is... NASCAR????????"

Monaco had me on the edge of my seat. What a great race. Not many pases on track, ut the strategery was very exciting. I was ery suprised to see Kubica pull in to the pit before Hamilton. Things looked pretty good for Lewis te moment the BMW entered the pits.

You really have to feel bad for Sutil. I was wondering how much longer he'd even be in F1, but he looked brilliant today. Hard to blame Raikkonen though, he had that pretty much saved, but nowhere to go. It's part of the game, but a real shame for Sutil and Force India.
