Wow.  There are a lot of absolutely horrendous skis listed here.  A lot I haven't skied before as well.

But my favorite ski, the one I find is the best all around, ever made, is the 189 4frnt Turbo.  They ski everything, anywhere, any time.  They don't need to be babied, they just go.  They're like the Timex watch of skis.

But they sure are ugly.  Like George Barris and a Rat Fink cartoon threw up on them.

I think the majority of the posters who answered are looking at their past through rose colored glasses, and equating good times they had skiing earlier in life with what they were skiing on.

^^^^ This. I owned several of the skis listed in this thread. Most were really good to great for their time. Which also happened to be when we were younger, partied harder, recovered faster, had 1/10 the responsibilities, and felt like our futures were golden. What was better, or easier to pull off, than a long weekend skiing with a bunch of friends? So it's easy to mush all that together with skis that wouldn't make round two of a comparo with any 2015 higher end model.  Sad - or happy - but true.

Just saw stickers saying that on skis today, and looked to see if the skis were Sir Francis Bacon, but, no they were Volkls... Seemed odd.

The Bacon's graphics look like they should be on the 4FRNT Raven.
