About Chill:

Chill is a non profit, learn to snowboard program for at risk inner city youth. They bring snowboarding to kids who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to ride. Chill had and continues to have an immediate and profound impact on the youth and the communities they work with. Chill continues to utilize their resources to serve more kids and expand to new cities with their year round board sports programming. This year alone, Chill will serve over 2,500 disadvantaged boys and girls in 19 North American cities, Sydney, Australia and Innsbruck, Austria.

About the Event:

This year the Battle staff has put together an event tailored specifically for the high school crowd. The High School Battle for Burlington followed the success of last years competition for college students held at Jay Peak. This will be the only snow competition to bring together local youth and give them a chance to show off their snowboarding skills in front of family, friends, and spectators. The competition will be a jam format slope style event and will be held under the lights at Bolton Valley, Friday March 7, 2008. Registration fees for riders are $15 for Bolton season pass holders, $20 for non-pass holders. Spectators recieve free admission or the option to purchase a $10 golden ticket. The “Golden Ticket” will be sold the day of the event, which includes full night access during the competition, which is from 3-8pm. The High School Battle for Burlington has been created in conjunction with The Burton Chill Program. All net proceeds from the event will benefit Chill.
