What did you lose?

I lost my favorite pants last weekend, but I didn't notice until last night when I looked for them to wear today. I must have left them in the motel room or rental car. They weren't my nice ski pants, they were old faded scuffed Burton Biolights with a belt made from an old innertube. They were so much nicer than my nice pants.

Did you lose something irreplaceable on a ski trip this year? Tell me, so I don't feel so bad.

Only my innocence.

But I don't miss it a bit ... ... free at last!

Lost one of my Dakine Scouts whilst skiing over in Banner Elk. Went into the lodge, fell out of my pocket. Never saw it again.

This year's scouts are better anyway

I lost my salami: But the housekeeper was nice enough to give it back to me

I was skiing Copper and realized that I had left five pounds of Molinari hot salami and a bottle of Labbatt's Blue in the fridge where I had checked out that morning. I made a call and they rescued my meat and had it nicely wrapped when I got there that afternoon

Last year I lost keys to my car and that very same motel in a long, sliding crash under the Resolution lift. I spotted them three lift rides later, skied down and zipped them into my pocket

I lost a Motorola gmrs radio. Or, I should say my nephew lost it. We carry them in case we get seperated. Aparently, he pulled it out of his pocket when we were changing to go home and left it on the table in the lodge. Funny thing is, this is the second one he's lost. No more radios for that kid.

Well, I DISCOVERED a loss at the beginning of this season. Apparently they cut off my neck gaiter when they were cutting off my jacket and turtleneck, but no one told me about it. I found out this season when I tried to get dressed. I'd had it since the 80's and it was purple, so my daughter was happy it was gone. I liked it since it was HUGE and would go around my helmet, now I have to use a balaclava inside my helmet. I found I actually prefer the balaclava, so I guess it was a good thing.

I somehow lost (over the summer-moved) My helmet, a snowsaw, my Avalung, a pair of skins, goggles, and gloves. Bummer!

I found it! I will be sure to send it back. I really don't need it.

I lost the belt off my suit yesterday so I retraced my tracks. I asked at the desk where lost and found was. I could hear them snickering as I headed back out empty handed "awww, the gaper lost his bright blue fart bag belt..". I expected to see it in the panty tree at this point.

An hour later I stopped in a usual break location (not "off piste") on the mountain and looked down and there it was, one blue fart bag belt!

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most....(Will Rogers I think)

Some really funny responses. Dropbombs, you are the biggest loser so far. I truly sympathize with your loss, it does make my loss seem small.

On the plus side, (maybe), I found an iPod Shuffle in the street today while riding my bicycle. The downside of this, I need a connector to use it. I may end up buying a new Shuffle for the connector. The price of whole package is a much better deal than purchasing the accessory separately. Purchase of whole package rendering found component useless/spare. :

Somewhere in Mineral basin, direct line under lift: Motorola T6500, blue
Snowbasin under John Paul: confidence in the 'recovered' knee

You probably know about this, but scroll about 1/3 of the way down this page and see the deal for a refurb shuffle for $39

Lost my cell phone, which wasn't as bad as losing all the contacts I had in it.
Bummer!

Favorite (and no longer manufactured) gloves. Sucks.

I found a blackjack phone at the top of the lift two weeks ago at Appalachian NC. I gave it to the liftie up there and asked if he could make a call and report it found and drop it off at the lost and found later. What are the odds?

I lost a few toe nails over the years, but then I started handling my own boot fits.

"belt made from an old inner tube"

I once left my cell phone on the shuttle bus at Loveland. Luckily/unluckily a fellow ski instructor found it. I didn't even realize I had lost it at that point. He just came up to me with others and asked if I was missing something. He then told me I had some weird phone numbers on my phone. I could see lots of grins from fellow instructors. After thanking him, I checked my phone contacts list, sure enough, I had lots of new numbers to porn lines on my phone. They made sure to properly label the numbers too!:

I forgot about the cell phones. I lost mine on the first trip of the season, early December at Okemo. It was turned in and we got a call on my son's cell phone just as wer were leaving town. Turned around and picked it up.

Next trip, My son lost his cell phone at Stratton. Also turned in and we picked it up before leaving,

Since then we have been very careful about keeping them zipped in pockets.

Kind of lost some enthusiasim to ski . I just got back last week to Vermont and there was 14" of fresh but it does not seem such a big deal after spending the last 3 weeks out in Utah. Got to ski some amazing stuff and I really miss the steeps, the powder was great too but the steeps and the length of the steeps is what I am really missing now. I know I got to get over to MRG and do some laps off the single and that would help but I think it will take some time to get thru this funk. Already looking forward to biking and motorcycle riding this spring.

A guy who can't afford a real belt has a camera? I would have built a pinhole camera from a shoe box and tried to get an image of my belt had I anticipated the need.

TRod sorry about your pants, i haven't personally lost anything this year except an almost new pack of MarlboroLights but my favorite pants lost their a$$ in a yard sale in the back of the car. Threw them back there all balled up and they tangled witha ski edge and lost. Couldn't find my duct tape so i got them sewed up almost good as new.

I haven't really lost anything but I did ruin my favorite skis at the Blue Knob Gathering. I bent one of my 9S World Cups.
I left my girlfriend's snowboarding boots in the parking lot at Mammoth earlier this year.

YOU left HER boots. Funny how that works.

I tried but it won't bend back. If I didn't know better I'd swear that a snowmobile ran over it or maybe a groomer. Hell, I'll just use it for BK glades now.
