Due to old injuries I cannot ski two days in a row. At the end of one day I'm sore; by the next day inflammation has set in and I have trouble doing things such as climbing stairs, getting up from a chair, or in and out of a car. I could never ski the day after skiing.
My plan for my birthday, this March, is to drive to someplace beautiful, like the White Mountains, stay overnight, go skiing, drive back (with plenty of coffee), and recover at home for a few days.
After skiing I should have an hour or two of light to take pics of the surrounding mountains in winter. I've only been to the Whites in summertime.
My orthopedist is amazed that I can even skate or ride a bike; when I talk about skiing she looks as if I'm hallucinating.
