Sorry to be off topic, but I was hoping to get this seen by someone who might have some insight on the subject.

I have a 2 1/2 y/o daughter who we took to see a podiatrist this morning, and am looking for some general direction and info on tie-in in toddlers, and getting real-life (face-to-face) 2nd opinions, as this could get very expensive.

If you have any expertise in this area, a PM would be HUGELY appreciated!

it may be worth going to www.podiatry-arena.com and looking at the specialists on there, there are several who are lecturers in biomechanics etc and i am sure someone would be able to offer some guidance BTW you may have to register but I can't see a problem in you loging in and asking a question

Thanks CEM! Great site. Although I'm torn about posting a question. In their forum rules that you agree to when you register, it specifically states, up top, in bold, that it is not a site for people to post questions about their foot problems. I'd probably get my butt moderated right out of there and my post deleted. There don't seem to be any posts from non fott docs there, which leads me to believe that they get axed.

That said, there is some good info there, although not an answer to my specific question, which has to do with whether 2 1/2 y/o is too early to use devices (orthotics) to correct intoeing, since I am reading a lot of stuff suggesting that these problems correct themselves, and that some of these docs are not using gait plates until after 6 y/o.

And if the Doc that I happen to take my kid to, doesn't have their level of expertise in this area, how do I get an educated answer if I can't ask that type of forum?

Do you know of any similar forums where the public is allowed to ask foot questions, and might have similar experts?

Thanks again. That site has been the most help I've found yet.
