Notes, notes, notes, notes.
Notes, notes, notes, notes.

Hey hey hey, goodbye.

My notes are better than 97% of the notes out there.

Once again, Head has done it to me. Next years skis are way hot. What is it about Head? They have this uncanny ability to get me to give them money, every damn year.

Lots of talk out here at the home office about the skier deaths. I just hope, people are looking past the end of their noses. We’ve all talked about the helmets, there whole dealio. No doubt it, there’s a case for them. But skiing is about freedom, right? Here’s to hoping the movers and shakers don’t forget it.

C’mon, Ott. Have you really only fallen once in your whole damn career?

Things are getting way too cushy around here. There has to be something we can argue about.

You know, I really thought nolobolono was he/she/its last name. Now it’s just nolo. What is about these people who feel the need for two names?

Which brings me to my next thang. There’s a kid on junior’s hockey team with 3 names! No shit. Johnny Johnson-Smith. Somebody should slap this kids parents - hard.

Getting back to the house, and then there’s the ones that leave. First they’re in, then they’re out. Can’t a guy get a little commitment around here anymore?

The Queen and I went to see Unfaithful. Whoo wah! That, was one steamy movie. The guy in it, whoever he his, what’s it like to be him? He walks by, and women just start undressing. The guy is such a stud that you’d probably forgive your wife for a one-timer.

Okay, back to skiing. Judging from what I see, it looks things should be on the up and up in the ski business. Lots of fine folks are making some progress and best of luck to all of them. We’ll just have to see how much of it all really does make it to the slopes.

But I'm all about the responsibility code and I got my boundaries. Somebody dorks on me and they're gonna hear it, big time. Please do the same. For the life of me, I can't understand why people don't understand the simplest rule on the hill - that THE PERSON IN FRONT OF YOU ALWAYS HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY, NO MATTER WHAT. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO AVOID THEM.

But guess what folks? One thing that’ll never change (because of course, history never changes) is that it’s all about mother nature. Lotsa snow makes even the dumbest ones look like geniuses.

Inside Tracks? That was a good rag, but it looks like Peter Keelty’s model eclipsed it. So much that it looks like we’ll see an on-line version of IT at Keelty’s place before next year. Or is it already there?

They’re talking that next year is an el nino year out here at the home office. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, please do the same. Man. Some funky weather going on the past few years.

Westfall chair is being replaced by a high speed quad next year. That means, Grouse Mountain is all high speed quads. I was in love with Grouse before. Now, I may never ski anywhere else. Okay, I’ll be up at Highlands and Snowmass a few times.

Cue up the Green Acres theme song. “Grouse Mountain is the place for me, Grouse Mountain is the life for me”. Altitude of about 12k, nothing but vertical and tons of it - lotsa bumps, glades. Throw in a few rollers, then the heated bathrooms with water. Then, at the end of the day you get a cookie! Oh, man. Somebody pinch me.

Some folks are going home real sore.

Okay, it’s official. I’m jonezin for opening day. 185 days and counting.

Alright folks. Here’s to at least 50 Bears at the annual meeting next year! Training starts now!

Cheers,

I don't know how he actually skis, and half of the time I don't know what the heck he's trying to say, but SCSA's posts are consistently 97% more provocative than anyone else's! Don't ever change, Paul!

No, SCSA, there were more. I remember some in the 1960s. And then there was the one in 1976 that cost me a weeks wages in beer, so you see there were more than one.

But you could say that I ski conservatively, which doesn't mean hesitantly, just within my capabilities.

Edited for spelling...

SCSA,

I was watching a mountain bike competition on TV one day. The competitors were very impressive, but what really blew me away was this guy who barreled down the hill on a fat-tire unicycle.

You seem to me to be a man who might like such a training challenge. The days will go by faster and the skills will transfer to the snow. You will want to wear a helmet.

You know, when we were born, our parents named us something or other. My parents had five kids and we all have dull American names. I couldn't wait to grow up and have the nice people invent the Internet so I could choose my own name, one that expresses my essential be-ing-ness. So I chose Nolo. But Nolo seemed to need a second name. I did not wish to infringe on the weiner, so I could not spell it Bologna. Hence Nolo Bolono. I go by Nolo now that we have worked through the formalities.

Dear Paul/SCSA/PMSwhacko,

1 name?

Get off your a$$, put your skis on your back and start hiking. If you don't feel comfortable in a new place, hike A-Basin. There is no reason you can not be skiing this weekend.

Sincerely,

Blue

Except for those hiding beneath rollers. They only have the right to be impaled.
