Mt Superior

If you've skied alta/bird you've probably looked across the street at Mt Superior, it's kind of a wasatch classic.

Superior from Friday. Criscam, myself and a non bear friend. Probably the best weather I've had in the bc this season, bluebird, barely a breeze.
All photos courtesy of Criscam.

The line, right from the top:

The bootpack gets sporting in spots, this pic doesn't show it but it gets fairly knife edge once or twice.

the point, at Monte Cristo, soon.

The conditions were good, no instabilities, 8" or so of nice pow on top of a crusty base. The crusty base became more pronounced lower on the slope.

No Suicide Chute today? It's filled in this year like I've never seen it.

I prefer 'Country Lane', but no, it was all about skiing from a peak with the good vis and weather.

Sweet!

I've never seen it from Alta or Snowbird

I like that term; "sporting".

Kinda like "airy".

Anyway... Great job, zzz.

That's one of skiing's classic summits. It's very cool to ski off the top of that peak. Well done.

Great report. I've been up there in summer but not in winter. It definitely calls to be skied. Hopefully I'll ski it sometime. Unless you wait until spring or are around all the time it's not necessarily easy to find avy conditions conducive to skiing Superior.

very cool TR

Thanks for the cool TR. That bootpack looks pretty sporting to me even in that photo, I'm sure I'd be scared as heck by the sketchier parts.

I was looking at that peak on my way back down from Alta yesterday, what a beautiful spot. I was admiring the nice lines coming down that pitch. Congrats for hiking it and carving it up, looks like a blast. Nice pictures.

A doff of the helmet. Great pictures. I love it when it snows, but a bluebird day is my favorite.
