We just returned from 10 days in Lake Tahoe, I was last there 12 years ago and my opinions of the resorts have been reordered. Squaw is still what it was, just when you think your hot stuff it will put you in your place. Heavenly is a great resort, just a pain to get around. Alpine meadows was a real treat, it was a beautiful place then and now it is even better. Kirkwood still has the awesome terrain but the lifts leave something to be desired. The real surprise has to be Northstar, the village has great potential but the mountain blew me away, what a variety of runs. On a powder day the place is surreal, no crowds and 1200 ft of perfect pitched runs. I will be back.
