Yes, it's true, this 60 yr. old bod can't take any more trauma (just don't recover like I used to), so I'm back to the sticks. I, unfortunately, didn't learn to ski at an early age, so it's been a difficult, painful, and interesting road. I bought 170 Rossi Bandit X about 5yrs. ago to learn on
, after trying rental stuff. OK, not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I have this aversion to rental.
I then decided to snowboard, which is fun, but I just can't take the pounding. So I want to go back to sticks, and typically we go to Utah (Powder Mtn., Mt., and Co.), and have been fortunate that most trips end up w/ powder, hence the OP re. 50%-50%. So in one respect, a typical "powder" profile would be back country steeps and trees, which I'm not (yet), but it seems like every time we go, I get into stuff that's near boot high and I am stuck!
When on the Bandits, I could manage a blue, but lost form.
Back to green to get form and courage
So that's it in a nutty shell!
