This is what Taos looked like after a couple weeks without any snow back in January. Gigantic crowds. Remember kids, you don't want to go to Taos.

Oh, this is post 5000.

Why am I posting a one pic TR from weeks ago? Well, I just found my camera battery charger...

Skier's right near the boundary in Huntziker bowl. Get off chair 4, head to skier's right, short duckwalk, traverse until it looks bueno. (or if your lungs are up to it, hike the peak and come in from above.) That particular day those aspects were $$ creamy wind filled stuff, soft as butter even though there hadn't been a storm in some time. Good to keep track of which way the wind has been blowin'.

In ABQ, anytime. Unfortunately I do not have any space other than my van at the ski valley, but there is always the Snowmansion in Arroyo Seco if you are up for that kind of thing.

I'll be at the snowmansion for the first time Feb 22-24. If anyone is around there, give a shout. I'll be attending a weekend camp at Taos.

And BTW, I got a private room but it has 6 bunk beds and so far only one friend has told me he will go. If anyone needs accomodation, I could take 1-2 people.

That is where I was thinking it was.

I was there 1/26. Hunziker bowl was, indeed, awesome. I can only imagine it this weekend after the upcoming storm.

What do you say Lee, hike all the way to the peak?

I need to get an avalung that comes with a connection to an oxygen bottle.
Then a mask like they use for everest, and then a sherpa to carry me, and I'm good to go

Yep. gonna be up there this weekend for sure. snowforecast.com is calling for 4 - 7 on Thursday, flurries friday and blue bird weekend.

For all you copper/WP pass holders, you get three free days at Taos. this is the year to use 'em!

But in the end, I keep the same opinion:

I just got to Taos, and I gotta say I'm extremely envious of you getting first tracks! I'll be there early tomorrow hopefully to do the same.
