Snowmass on President's weekend

Thread Starter
I'll be at Snowmass right thru President's weekend. Since we will be taking one day off from skiing, any idea which day should be the busiest? I haven't skied on President's weekend, ever. I now have to work around my son's school schedule, like the rest of the world.

Also, "IF" I get a day to ski without the family, which of the other areas should I try to hit?

Thanks.

Crowds aren't really an issue at Snowmass. If you have a 5 minute wait line, get away from the base area and go over to Elk Camp or Sam's Knob.

Go visit Aspen Hignlands or Ajax.

Crowds won't really be a factor, so I would base my go/no go decision on the weather. You don't want to ski Snowmass on real windy days. The top lifts are exposed and will shut down around 30mph.
Ajax and Highlands are both really nice mountains. If you go to Highlands you pretty much have to ski the bowl.
