Talk about a thread with legs. :duck:

Our pooch who was featured above in this thread almost seven years ago went to doggie heaven last May.  The young girl behind in the snow fort will complete her undergraduate degree from the Univ of Virginia in one week.

The hard part of having 'em is their life spans not being in synch.  Second the congrats on the UVA grad!

I miss all my four legged friends, they've been true to me, family and while at time trouble makers ... well, (mostly) innocent. I think that's why children tend to love them so much.

U of V ... Third that congrates to your daughter! With history of a loving dog, I'm sure she's a better person as most with pets.

Best dog story I've come across in a while. GF shared with me, just passing it along...

The phrase "best dog story" reminded me of the following .. sadly (?) no pictures.

Yes, that reads "Dogs In Elk." It has me in stitches every time I read it.

You can train Berners to stay off your bed. And they can act in that commercial where you jump on your bed and don't spill the wine glass.

Someday I will have a dog I can ski with! Till then I'll live vicariously through you who do.

Here's a vid from a few years ago of Eric Pollard and his dog Kaya...

And a more recent one (which I cannot embed).

Well, bad news on the dog front.  My folks' dog, Tasha, was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease last year and deteriorated to the point where we had to put her down today.  She died peacefully and with dignity, and she will be sorely missed...  Here's a photo of her from about two years ago, right before she began getting sick.

:D  The last close regional upland season is done as of this weekend so mine is due for dark days until spring, too.  Actually they are still good for towing my lazy self on Nordic skis, so still a few days out here and there.  :)

good news.. it's only 2 months till the trail season starts... bad news..... with all this snow ... it's only 2 months till trial season... and the Back country spring season should be long.. and epic ... going to have to make hard choices on what the activity is going to be .. dogs .. or turns
