The Dog Pic Thread

Thread Starter

Let's see some pics of skier's best friends. Post'em up!

This is our dog Jett. We adopted her last year from a no kill shelter. The 'Humane' Society was going to put her down when the no kill shelter took her in a day or so before they did it. We think she is a Schipperke / Border Collie mix. She is an awesome dog!...

I have a 5 year old drahthaar--AKA German wirehaired pointer. She is absolutely out of her mind but makes up for it by her infectious joy with being outdoors. She is a hunting farm reject I got as a rescue dog.

Newfoundlander how great! :P

What a beautiful Newf! I had one as a kid that would dive down 6' in our bay to retrieve a large rock, and then carry it all the way back to shore. We rescued a Harlequin Great Dane last spring. I'll try to figure out how to submit her picture a.s.a.p.

Aw, dog threads get me everytime. Here's the Wonder Dog last year at Loveland. This year, she's fighting the good fight against cancer. Go Shadow go!!

This is my dog, MiMi. We got her at the Pima Animal Control when she was 4 months old. She was a stray they picked up. At the time, the vet rated her condition as "emaciated." She's the BEST dog I've ever had. Couldn't figure out how to get the picture into the post, so here's the link:

Did you really think I wouldn't post a couple of pics in this thread? Come on, I'm the king of posting dog photos. Here's some summertime.

Cody kills it. If you ever happen to be in Tahoe with Cody, we'll have to get him and Dakota out for a ride.

[/IMG]O.K. This is Mi Mi. We were told that she is Aussie/Heeler, but three people have asked us if she is part Basenji. She has lots of the characteristics.

Okay, love all the photos but, wow, Cody is awesome! I want a dog that can come skiing with me!
Great pictures. That top one of Cody is fantastic.

This is Linus, a Doberman-some kind of terrier mix (probably). He's a little bitter I've taken up downhill skiing, since it cuts into other wintertime activities (like snowshoeing). But, he comes on all our summer backpacking trips, and is good about cleaning up all the leftovers.

Heres my puppy, blue heeler and something else.

Here's my beast, Barley (I brew beer). He's mostly Lab, but is a shelter dog so who knows what else. He'll be 5 next month.

My Boy Higgins

Here's my boy, "The Young Master Higgins." Looking at the rest of the posts here makes me realize that I need more action shots!

I'm a sucker for herding dogs (see the Aussi above ^ )! By his looks, your boy looks like a purebred. And very photogenic, too!

Dan,

I believe I've seen your pooch in the parking lot at Berthoud. Maybe not, but he looks familar. Great looking dog.

Thanks - he's just great! That's us at the top of Floral Glades, so I bet you're not mistaken. If the avy conditions get better (heck, they can't get any worse!) I'll be out there next week (Thursday?). Give a shout-out if you see the dog!

Here's our mountain dog, Lucy.

She's a shelter girl, so we know that her mom was a Boxer, but Dad? Who knows? One vet said she thought there was pointer in there. But I can't even begin to guess. She actually reminds me of a small version of the Ridgebacks I grew up with.

Lucy LOVES to hike. . .and I apologize for photo quality. Up until a couple of years ago we took most hiking photos on film, not digital.

Flatirons, Boulder, CO.

Mt. Audubon, CO. . . too tired, even for dog food.

Hi....I'm Divot

My owners 'suffer' from my Selective Hearing Loss 'condition'. What can I say, I'm a border collie and something else from outside Walmart.

I was a way cuter puppy than the previous three dogs even that dumb Clyde, the Lab...

Yeah, I own the place and lounge where I want....:

I'm up for anything and get amped up when skis, boots & bikes start appearing.

If you wonder where I got my name, ask Sean.

I like spring corn skiing better than powder because I hate the snow between my toes....plus it's safer.

Race ya to the top!

So....are ya coming or what?

Seems skiers migrate to herding dogs.

Here is a shot of Corbet, Border Collie Hybrid kinda dog. Not many pictures of him at work, I'll try to bring a few more in to post later. Some have seen him chase skiers this winter. He keeps up....

Can't have a dog thread without Benson! Benson is just over 8yo and is a Collie/Irish Wolfhound mix.
