Pics?

The only red XScream I was aware of was the 2001 Xscream 8. It only had Prolinks in the front though.

Your not thinking of buying them used are you?

Or should I say how much are you asking for them?

IMO most of that series lacked edge hold.

I think Helluva is spot on - around 2000/01
If you're buying, don't pay over $50 (I was going to say $30, but decided to be generous!)

I think that is a woman's ski. X Scream 8?

There was a purpleish red "Scream 8 Pilot W". Woman's ski but no girly graphics. I rented one once by accident and it was a floppy noodle, it was horrible. Don'r recall if it had prolinks or not.

Not a bargain, at any price.

Gee and I thought I was hard...

Didn't mean to harsh anyone out.

YMMV of course. Maybe it was just the tune ...

But look for that "W" on the model info of this ski - I got the impression from one other rental experience that the Salomon "Scream" series early 2000s was pretty soft to begin with and then to soften it up for the women's version takes away that much more.

The only decent skis in the "Scream" line was the legendary XScream Series and the Scream Xtra Hot.

Your signature says it all. I ski Salamons (SuperForce, and Scream 10s) because they were dirt cheap. I'm OK with them because I'm not that heavy (160 #s) they are fairly long at 190 and 186 respectively. The hold fine for me at top speed on steep hardpack, just a little bit of slop-I'd say they are close to the older K2 710 and 812 at the same legnths in stability. The older superforce are definately firmer. I can tell that the scream 10s would be too wobbly for someone heavier on a shorter legnth.
The bright side is that they are very easy to ski.
I'm getting older, I don't get out tht much, and I need all the help I can get

There are numerous models over time that were red. The X-Scream was a mega-success for Salomon so they started naming everything with the 'X-Scream' name. It really doesn't matter which model it is because all of them barely qualify for rock skis. If someone is giving them to you with bindings they might be worth taking but don't spend any money on them.
