Just catching up on the last couple of days of posts. Great to everybody doing do well. Resting up today, 3 days without the brace and the knee is a little sore, hot and tired. To be expected I suppose. After trying to get the walking gait right and new harder exercises my good ( 5 years TQR repaired) leg is getting a niggle so I'm going to lay off that today as well. Nothing major, just not worth pushing at this stage.
I went yesterday without and did a mile walk.....today I am a little sore so staying home and working on the form rather than the distance. So hard to concentrate on the heel to toe and when to do the Quad tightening plus removing the peg leg walk. Not as easy as I thought it would be. I thought once the darn brace was off I would be back to normal........no way, now I need the PT to learn to walk normal again. The new exercises should help though with the lunges and squats and doing the steps with the bad leg first. Baby steps.......just feels so good to be out on the deck doing my exercises in the fresh air and temps at 75*. My PT said to listen to the knee it will tell me when to rest and I am listening to it and know when to stop, when to rest and when it feels good to go. Not worth over doing! Enjoy your down time!
