15 weeks postHello all,
It's been a while since my last post. I've tried catching up on the last three pages or so. Welcome all new members and Hi to all old. I will give e brief update so here it is:
As most know I had a Bi-Lateral Quad Tendon Rupture so unlike most here I had it twice as hard since both knees went. I started putting weight bearing on the legs in the first week and began walking with the walker during the same period. I ditched the braces at 2 1/2 weeks and the walker a short time after. I started PT at week 4 and was going 3X's a week now 2X's and may bring that down to one. I will do the rest on my own at the gym. My frequency at the gym for my other workouts have been few due to the fact that I lost the first half of the summer because of this injury. I then had to make up time on my boat every day the weather was good and also returned to work. Also since I was going to PT 3X's/week and the workouts were intense that counted as working out anyway. That being said I will now up my workouts at the gym.
My ROM on both legs are 138*, the rubber band feeling is getting less and less. The tightness at night and in the morning is also getting way less. Going down stairs still is not the same but getting better each day. The strength in my quads is increasing and I as well as my OS am pleased with my progress. My PT is really working me hard as I know he feels I get bored quickly. There are so many things he has me doing and it's all good. Next week I will begin running and I can't wait for that since I need it for my duties in executive protection.
Well that's it for now, take care and keep positive and work hard. Remember you will only get out what you put in. Be safe, the last thing we want is a re-injury as I've seen some others go through.
