Haven't been here for a while. Busy because I've returned to the office. Had been working from home the first 8 weeks.
Approaching 11 weeks since my surgery. ROM unassisted lying down is 116, assisted (with little assistance) 120. At 125 seated unassisted, which is my normal ROM.
Rehab going well. Up to 10 minutes on the bike. Could go more, that might get increased today. Straight leg lifts with a 3 pound weight now. Short arc lift with a 1 pound. Doing the other items listed in my previous post. Also added some Cybex machines for squats and leg lifts.
Started step down/step up training. That is tougher than anything else to me. Not from pain, but my own tentativeness and the weakness in the knee.
I only use the cane when walking on unlevel surfaces and stairs. I don't use it at all in the office or at home. I have been avoiding hills with a steep downward grade, but can manage gentle grades.
Actually walked to the grocery store (2 blocks) the other day and was able to carry a light bag of groceries home over my shoulder with no balance issues. I try to walk more outside and get used to it.
Going to work with my PT to determine my best course of action when I return to the Y. Looks like the goal is to get me back to the Y week 13, 2 days a week.
