I ran across this forum trying to find out about my sons injury and everyones personal stories are EXTREAMLY helpful, scary but helpful. I was hoping as a person caring for an injured person any tips you guys can offer. I am still reading through the 68 pages of this thread and first person accounts are great.
Little background on us....My son is 14 yrs old, Races BMX bikes and hurt himself riding his bike in front of the house. He did the sunday, went to the ER right away and got into Ortho today. He has an MRI tomorrow to confirm but Dr said she strongly believes he has ruptured the Quad and Patellar tendons. The Pain is still to bad for her to go in and drain it. So Yes MRI tomorrow to confirm and Ortho again Thursday. And surgery in pencil for monday.
Any advice is greatly appreciated! I want to do everything and anything I can to help him out. But I don't want to see him waste away on the couch.
