CO Front Range roll call (Loveland/Summit County/Vail/BC) - Page 6

Anybody skiing the Basin this week? We're going to get a few more days in, then close Aspen Highlands on Sunday, then head home and say a sad farewell to our CO ski season.

Nice, thanks for the pics again Faisal.

I'll probably be at the Basin tomorrow (Friday), around 10-10:30am. Black Gotamas, red boots, blue helmet.

I ended my season on a high note with a POWDER day on April 11th, but you people still skiing have my envy meter pegged. Have fun at Abasin:

Hey faisal, we'll be there Friday as well. I'll be in red suit, black helmet with butterflies, large fanny pack. Hubby in red and black jacket, black pants, B3 skis. Would be nice to say hello and take a few runs. :

Sorry didn't make it up today. Felt too lazy. Hope it was fun.

My next possible day out will be this Sunday, and probably some days next week.

Faisal, you made a good choice. A-basin was tough on Friday. Cold, windy, cloudy - definately not Spring skiing. Some good lines to be had, but you needed to search. Spine and Pali Face had best snow on Friday and Saturday. Sunday afternoon it finally warmed up a bit and the lines on Zuma (end zone, jump) were nice and soft. East Wall had dry snow, made my sea level friends hike the North Pole - they loved it. Land of the Giants was nice as usual. Never really softened up on Pali, and no base loss this weekend - still at 62 inches. Next few days should be nice, then cold again on Thursday with a few inches - maybe warm enough on weekend again. Have fun.

Just looked on A-basin site and it appears they closed all the steeps off Zuma Smart though, as I am sure the avalanche risk is going up with sunny skies.

Kinda what I figured. Will probably head up there tomorrow, and maybe Wednesday/Thursday. Getting pretty warm here -- supposed to hit high 60's in the valley tomorrow and Wednesday.

The Divas were there this weekend with about 8" new - in May! Pics coming I guess - I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Another storm coming tonight and Wednesday and Just in time for my birthday (5/15). I plan to celebrate on Sunday at the Basin with my daughters. Shaping up to be a nice day I think. My last weekend was at WP on 4/12 - 10 degrees, 108" base and about 2 feet of white smoke! Then Sunday 4/13 at Eldo - warm and sunny with lots and lots of snow.

This year has been quite amazing.

Thursday?

Is anyone planning on skiing the Basin Thursday? I would love to share a ride up from Denver or thereabouts, too. PM me and let me know. I am planning on leaving Denver about 8am and leaving the Basin about 2pm.

dp, I'm planning on it if they still have Pali lift open. Not sure about the early timing, but 2pm maybe good for me as I might have to pick up my daughter from school. I'll be more clear in 1-2 days and will pm you then. I pick up I-70 at Kermits/rte 6, but could also enter at Morrison.

looks like they are expecting a foot tonight again! What a spring!

bumpdad- looking forward to your pm. I come across 6 to 70 (live in Hilltop in Denver) so I could meet you there, but is the parking better at the Dino lots?

Has there been a snowier spring than this one in the last 10 years? For all of you that have access to it , hope you're having a ball.
