CO Front Range roll call (Loveland/Summit County/Vail/BC)

Instead of people starting dozens of threads through the season for each individual day, I figured we could maybe have one thread that people could always post to ski together. I'll go first...

Thinking of skiing somewhere this Friday (Feb-1). Maybe Vail, Basin, or Breck (if winds aren't too bad). Looks like about 8-12+" forecasted through Friday.

Anyone?

What the heck...if the snow comes in, I'll call in sick. Vail would be nice.

Hi Faisal, Emily and I are planning to hook up with Ric @ Vail on Friday. Not sure of a meeting point or time yet, but we will boot up at the locker area @ Golden Peak. Maybe see ya there

Looks like Vail it is then for Friday. Where are you heading up from, Chris? If from Dillon/Silverthorne, wanna carpool?

Just emailed the boss to see whether or not I can take Friday off. Hope to see you guys on Friday.

Sunday 2/2

Can't do Friday. I'm skiing Sunday Feb 3rd with 2 others, probably Vail in Blue Sky Basin. Anyone else want to try and meet up? (cough cough.....Anyone and his wife who has only skied 2 days so far yet this year???.. . cough...)

Monday?

I am off on Monday, but cannot leave Denver until about 8:30-9 (I have to give a lecture at 7). Anyone planning on skiing Summit Co. or Vail?

If work is light, I might come out for a half day. Will let you know on Sunday evening.

Ok, ok. I get the message! I'm not sure if we'll get out together this weekend or not, but I told her that she HAS to get up and ski soon. Hopefully with you around. I told her that I thought ya'll would get along just fine.

Alrighty then, what's the meeting plan for tomorrow morning? Locker area at Golden Peak? What time? I'll be there.

Haven't heard from Chris yet (left him a voicemail). I'm good for any time. Lifts start at 8:30. So I'm thinking if we get there around that time, that'd be good. I was thinking of leaving my house around 7:45am or so. Mike, let me know if you want to swing by here on the way.

Inester, if you'll be coming, PM either me or madmike your cell.
I'll check back later tonight to see what the plan is. I don't mind swingin' by.

If I hear from Chris tonight, I'll post here. Otherwise, Mike, call me when you're near Georgetown tomorrow morning.

I have to bail on tomorrow. Heading up to Vail on Sat night for a Super Bowl ski day.

Although nothing epic, Vail was still very nice yesterday. Reported 7", skied shin-deep (with deeper pockets). Untracked in many places. Champagne Glade was $$$.

Got only these two blurry pics of madmike on Genghis:

What the??? Looks like I'm squatting to take a poop in the second pic. lol

It had to be one of my best days skiing. Lots of nice, fresh snow and I felt like my powder/crud skiing was the best it's ever been. Goes to show that moving out here was a smart move.

Vail on Saturday

Vail got a lot more snow Friday night, and more during the day Saturday. We avoided the crowds, skied the trees (technically, the gaps), and had yet another great day of fat untracked.

There's another big storm coming tonight through Monday evening.

dp, I don't think I'll be able to make it out on Monday (damn work!). But thinking of making some turns on Tuesday somewhere.
I'm at Vail 2/7-2/11, if anybody is around. Keep the snow coming.

roundturns, are you skiing on Thursday, 2/7? I may be in for skiing then. And at least for one day during the weekend.
Yes. My first day out will be Thursday 2/7. I get in the night before. If you're in Vail then , look forward to hooking up. I'll even ride the Golden Peak chair to the top this time instead of unloading at mid station!

Anyone skied the new lift at A Basin yet? If it ever looks like the clouds are gonna go away, I may head over there this week if anyone is interested.

Montezuma

I was there when they dropped the rope a couple of weekends ago. The skiing was epic, as there was a half-season of powder to be snarfed. I hear it's badly skied out now. The runs right under the lift are steep and narrow, not at all the single-black diamonds the temporary signs indicated.

Copper Feb 8th

I'll be skiing solo at Copper this Friday. If anyone would like to make some turns or hitch a ride from the city, let me know. Weather forecast looks good: http://www.snowforecast.com/CopperMountainResort2

I was there yesterday- it was terrific. Coverage (finally, from what I understand) was excellent, snow was great, fresh lines in the trees, great terrain. Worth the trip!

Who's skiing Sunday and where?

I'll only be able to get out for a few short hours tomorrow (Thursday), so I'll probably hit up Keystone (3-5" forecasted for tonight, and with the 80+mph gusts on Thursday, Keystone will be a good place to hide).

jgiddy, meet at the base of the River Run gondi at 9:30am tomorrow?

roundturns, we'll have to meet up next time you're here.
