Remind me not to give you any sympathy when someone F'es your skis up.

Why? I would think the shop would have just filled the hole with epoxy put some P-tex on the bottom and shut up.

Good to hear the shop is taking care of you.

Just a guess but he probably wouldn't post here about it, which is (I believe) the point. Its good to see that people are still able to handle business transactions on their own without first posting on the interweb.

To the OP, congrats on new skis.

There are a couple sheets of metal and some wood in there. Damn. I'd love to razz whoever did that about their pot habit...

The nice thing about being grown up now is I don't need my mommy to wipe my arse. :

Just a reflection on the "Nanny State" and peoples inability to do anything without their lawyers or without advice from their agony aunt (or blog).

Rio has been here long enough, I'm sure he wouldn't whinge, but just get on with it.

Powder Puppy, you just need to get your sarcasm meter checked.

Glad the shop came through for you Rio!!
I guess one could argue that such conduct is what one should expect but still, not all of them act in that manner.
I'd buy there again!

if they punched all the way through, the shop should replace as they did. Let them repair and sell used. Rio's, is this your local shop?

Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong. I am getting this year's skis to replace a pair of last year's skis I bought dirt cheap from a friend who had to unload a bunch of skis from his shop because of the bad snow year last season. On the other hand, I spent 20 minutes hot-waxing and scraping to get the bases prepped. Is there something wrong with me that I'm actually happy with what happened instead of being upset to the point of suicide about the 20 minutes lost?????

Finndog -

The shop is a local shop in town, Roundhouse, that I try to steer most of my business to. Their plan is to use the ruined skis for demoing since the model has only changed cosmetically. (They originally weren't going to have a demo ski for this model but now they do.)

Damn it Rio, now this is different. You need to sue that ski shop for gazillions for the paid and anguish that this incident has caused you.

20 whole minutes??? :
OMG, sue them, sue them so bad they need to close shop!

No really, I say 20 minutes of waxing and scraping is a great deal for brandnew ski's! If I got a new pair for every 20' I've been prepping my house wouldn't be big enough to stash my quiver!
