Stratton mid-week is kinda cool.
Granted I am an intermediate skier but I find it pretty fun. I'd say that roughly it's one level below what you find out West..
On the weekend it's pretty crowded though. Intrawest though the management company that runs it is considered one of the best though - right? I mean they also run the famed Whistler...
Intrawest may own the two outfits, but they have absolutely NOTHING in common except for the faux Europe base town. The same people own Ocremo and Crested Butte, but no one could ever confuse the two.
I've been to Flatton for more years than many here have been alive, and last year skied backwards down one of the double blacks with my son just for laughs. Just sold me two CSC day tickets to Flatton last week - couldn't get up the enthusiasm......
No, when it comes to flat and posers, Flatton is the East Coast king. Some of the tree runs are OK, but if there's enough decent snow for the trees, head IMMEDIATELY to Magic, and see what it's really all about.
