Question regarding HEAD EDGE boots

Hi,

I currently have a Head c210 with EDGE 7 boots. This is one of Head's most beginner combinations (if not *the most*). Now I've been skiing with these for quite a while, and wanted to move on to something more advanced. My skiing level is basically intermediate, I'm comfortable with mostly all groomed slopes but have a hard time taking the steeper ones on directly and carving them.

The product adviser on Head's official site offered me the Xenon Xi 5.0 and the iXRC 300. Now I notice that the site also offers more advanced boots for each. My question is the following. Would it be reasonable to stick with my EDGE 7 boots and buy one of these models? I.e. is an upgrade in the boots really essential? I'm asking the question because a friend wants to buy my skis (obviously without the boots) and I wanted to end up with better skis and not much spent.

Thanks.

Boots are the most important piece of ski equipment. That being said, it would be hard to judge whether you need more of a boot than you have. Have an instructor watch you ski, and get his opinion on your boots and skis.

Thank you, I will try to consult an instructor, although I'm a bit skeptical of the guys here in AM, since they generally have very little experience with Head. Still I understand this in terms of boot fitting. I.e. with a badly fit boot you ski bad. However what is the difference between different well fit models of boots. In my case this would be EDGE 7.7 and EDGE +9.
