thanks Bears for Vail reccommendation

Thanks to all the bears that over the last year reccomended Vail as a resort to ski and also gave me tips on runs and which skis to choose.

Well i just got back yesterday and it lived up to my expectations and more.

The sheer vastness and choice of terrain was flabbergasting. The quality of snow had to be experienced to be believed . We didn't get any real fresh powder , just a sprinkling , but the snow is so fine and light that skiing off piste tracked out snow wasn't a problem.

And the place was not crowded - deserted on thursday not busy friday , busy for the holiday Saturday but we went and found a nice quite area away from the crowds over the back , and not crowded Sunday (by European standards). it was cold though -16 c , i've never known such cold.

I took up the advice of Apache recons - and liked them , good allrounder ski but i must say felt a bit unresponsive and dull. Alot better than the Salomon X wings which was the other offering from the hire store .

All together a great trip filled with trees , super fast groomers , steeps and bowls

will be back next year :

Keir

P.s. Reccomended to everyone but i would say it's hell of an expensive place to stay and eat at.
