Has anyone tried Armada skis?

Hey, Im planning on buying some skis before next season. I want a ski that can take me on groomers and powder. I was looking at the Armada website and really liked the look of some of the skis so I was wondering if anyones actually tried any of them and has an opinion or advice?

I demo'd a pair of the El Rays. They are marketed as an all mountain ski and have a bit of a twin tip. I'm 6'4" and about 215 lbs. I was on the 185s.

I thought the skis were OK, but they weren't for me. (Though I think they looked fantastic.) They were extraordinarily slow but felt as if they were in need of a tune. They certainly weren't bad skis but they didn't seem to do anything especially well. After all they are an all mtn ski. I didn't feel confidence carving on high speed groomers, and they weren't all that great in powder. Personally I much prefer the Mythic Riders from Dynastar or the Mantra.

I'm not trying to bash the ski. I think they would be a solid intermediate all mountain ski. But it's not the ski for ripping runs at high speed or in fresh powder.

I haven't tried any of their other skis, I can only speak about the El Ray.

I just saw the price on those though. WOW! For under $400, I think it's a good deal.
