Well, its that time of year again, and I need new skis. I'm 16 and live out in New England, all hard pack and groomed snow. I would have bought skis earlier, but we didn't go skiing over break since my big bro had college applications. Anyways, basically, my parents swear by Atomic, my mom bought some old Betas (eh, dunno the model) 6 years ago and absolutely loves them, although they are a bit long for her. Anyways, I guess I also lean a bit towards Atomic, and I need new skis, since I broke my old Dynastars 2 years ago (they were size 130 too, They were like 2 inches below my chin when I broke em, stupid hand me downs). Anyways, been using rentals ever since, but growing is starting to wane down, and I'm settling at around 5'8, and about 130 lbs (flyweight). Anyways, just wondering what would be good skis for me. I live in the east, and ski only in the east, I don't go on moguls or tree skiing (not fast enough, not enough adrenaline rush), mostly go down Black Diamonds or Double Blacks w/o moguls. Anyways, I usually carve my turns pretty wide, sorta looks like a GS skier when I ski (I like to go fast). I would rate myself at a 7 or an 8, because I have almost no experience on powder, and very little on moguls, other than that, I'm pretty good. Anyways, I'm looking at Atomics, so that leaves me with pretty much the Metrons, Nomads, Super Crosses, and Race skis. Just wondering which ones to get. I guess I'm leaning away from Metrons since I really don't need "all mountain" capability, if it can carve well on hard pack/groomed, in addition to ice, that's all I'm asking for. So which one of these should I be looking at?
