Too short?

I found a Volkl Bridge 177 for a good price but i'm unsure if it's too short as I can't demo anything around the area. Anyways i'm 22yo 5'11 and about 180# and I can ski pretty much what you throw at me. I'm not a huge park skiier, but I do like to get in there every so often and have some fun, but I mostly like to get on the mountain and explore. Any thoughts will help!

This will be equivalent to about a 172cm traditional ski. How does that compare to your other skis? At your height and weight you could go to the next size up, say if you skied out west, but 177cm isn't particularly short. You're borderline between the two sizes and could probably go either way depending on your typical ski terrain.

i've skied various sizes skis from 165 up to 185, but of course that was over the last 6-7 years and they all handle differently...i don't have much experience with all mountain twin tips...i've skied a friends PE's that are shorter than 170 and they were decent but too slow and chattery I expected taht at the length...but i've only seen good things about the bridges

its so tempting to go buy the 177 bridges today..unless there is some other suggestions...keep in mind i live in PA but i try to frequent out west and jay/killington/stowe etc in the north as much as I can...i know i know i'd love to get that gotamas but i feel like they're too fat for PA skiing and getting in the park however little i actually do that...of course if i lived in VT or out west those would be number one ski's without a doubt

Don't overlook PEs; I owned Karmas (the predecessor to the Bridge) and they are very good skis, but the PEs are slightly better for all-mountain use in my opinion. I guess being wider in this iteration, the Bridges would be a better choice for powder, etc.

The 179cm PE and the 177cm Bridge would be two good skis to put on your short list.

I ski a 176 line prophet 80 "skiis 166" and a movement kamasutra 169 "skiis 159" and have no problem.I am 5'8" 235 and only issue was kamasutra at 88 under foot i need to ski a little narrow stance.

5'8" 170# and have the Bridge in a 169. The 177 should be perfect for you. I would go for it. I also have the K2 PE in a 169 and it is also a great all around ski. Still, if you can get the Bridge at a good price I would go with it for the few powder days you might see. I hhink that Volkl sold out of the Bridges in December so deals may be hard to come by if you pass this one up...

so i bought my bridges today...the guy at the shop talked me into the 169's instead of the 177's but i'm having doubts right now...they're not getting mounted til sunday so i technically have some time to change my mind

think i should move up to the 177's?

once again i'm 5'11 and 180#...not looking so much for a park ski, but a ski that can handle the park occasionally...i live in PA but i get out west and up to Vermont a few times a year and make it to whistler every other year and ski pretty much anything

thoughts? oh yeah i'm heading out at like 5:30AM and might not be able to check this after that but i'm really considering calling the shop and changing sizes but i wanna hear some thoughts on this

I would consider the 185 before the 169.
