I love my Nordica top fuel nitrous skies. but the XSB N30 11 bindings don't hold up. I an a level 7-8 skier 5" 11' 210 ski 30 to 40 days a year in the north east Vt, Nh, Me. the skies are great but there is a ton of slop between the binding and the traveler / car the traveler / car to rail is ok but the binding is so sloppy after app 100 days of use that there on the shelf intil I can fix or replace the binding.

Sam, have you checked on warranty on these? I would start with the store that sold them and they may be able to get a new binding or even upgrade them to the higher DIN version at nominal cost. We have Nordica representatives that post here, and they may have additional ideas.

Try the warranty route first. If this comes up goose eggs you can pull the XBS plate off, plug the holes and mount whatever you want. I have removed an XBS plate and mounted a different plate/binding combination on a pair before.

This is a fairly common situation with demo bindings.

thanks Argus and SJ
its good to know i can drop the plate, it's not intracull. and your right SJ it really is a demo binding. do either of you have any idea what the warranty might be on the N30 11 XBS?

Warranties usually run 1, maybe 2 years.
When XBS first came out the toe and heel were screwed to the plate on production product. Made for a secure platform but if you used too much force you could strip the plate out. Since then they have moved to a 'demo' style system.
I know the early demo systems did have some considerable slop. Current product is much better and I believe (pretty sure, not 100%) that there is no difference between the production and demo bindings now.
