silverton mountain

Does anyone know of the success of Aaron Brill's new mountain in Silverton, Colorado. Has anybody been there?

Looks like they're having a little

opposition from the locals. Their web site also claims they have had satisfied customers but what area would not make that claim? I don't think they've had a stellar snow pack in the San Juans this year. I have been toying with the idea of organizing a road trip with some friends next year that would include a couple of days at Silverton Mountain.

According to the Mountain Gazette #85 Silverton did not succeed in BLM approval for full lease operation.

This year they are operating under a temporary permit for guided skiing only. For $99 each per day a maximum of 20 skiers can use the chairlift with a guide.

You could still get an Epic guided ski day given the right conditions. The place sure does sound interesting.

For more info and\or reservations contact Silverton on 970 387 5706 or e-mail jen@silvertonmountain.com
