2007 AK Rocket Swallowtails

I'm going to have a shop mount up my 2007 AK Rocket Swallowtails, these are the dark green & white ones with the wood-core.

I'm using the Fischer X14 binding, this is in the Tyrolia family. I will put the binding on a CP9 plate ( http://www.levelninesports.com/tyrolia-2006-carve-plate-9mm-slr-silver-p-80.html ) . This will allow me to relocate the binding without re-drilling, but I would like to get it right the first time.

So..., where does one install these? On the dot, or on the line? I know one skier who has his midpoint between the dot and line.

I know that Salomon changed the referance points on these over the years.

What would you suggest?

I have the older model, but the midsole mark (line behind the dot) was money. I actually measured the BoF for these and got the same mounting point. I posted about it on TGR and used the new mark for Boot center.

Hi,

That TGR thread runs on but was very informative.

It seems the consensus is to mount 84.5 from the tail for 70/30 (powder/firm) snow conditions. This matches the line on some but not all models, I will need to measure mine.

Thanks,

Michael
