Mojo 15

I just picked up a new pair of Mojo 15 bindings for a pair of PE's. When I put the boots in there is a little play in the toe piece. Is that normal for this binding? It is the first pair of Tyrollia bindings that I have owned. My other bindings are all Rossi axial2, and they really hold the boot tight to the binding.

They are pieces of ****. The play is normal but NOT acceptable. That is a warranty issue (or at least it was for me).

I don't have a huge amount of experience with that toepiece -- only about five days -- but I don't have the symptoms you describe.

With all due deference to Phil's post, it sounds to me more like the forward pressure isn't set correctly. This binding has a tab-type forward pressure setting; when the boot is in the binding, the rear of the heel piece should fall within the scribed area on the tab.

Will get worse over time. Till binding is unskiable, at which time you take it in to exchange it for the current version of this crap.

Then again it could be forward pressure

A lot of us here use Mojos, no issues. I doubt the problem you describe is endemic. Could be a particular production run. More generally, I've always found Tyrolias to be solid, well-designed, and the Mojo is just a plateless Tyrolia, far as I can tell.

So ski them or send them back for warranty?

Have you asked the shop that mounted them?

I've got a pair of Mojo 15's on one of my pairs of skis and I don't seem to feel any play at all.

Have you checked the forward pressure yet?

Thanks, I haven't checked it yet. How do I do that on these bindings?

I tightened the forward pressure. That took care of most of the movement. It still feels like a Salomon 912 before you adjust the toe height. Most of the movement is under the wings on the toe piece. I just isn't as tight as a Rossi.

Hmmm. How worn are the toes of your boots?

I have a couple pairs of Mojo 15 and do not have any movement.

Might be worth talking to some at Tyrolia if this is a warranty issue.

Brand new boots. So that isn't the issue. I think I'll call the shop today.
