The real question you should ask yourself is:
Are you skilled enough to benefit from one?
Unless you are being trained by a coach who can tell you exactly what elements of your skiing are being inhibited by the allstar, don't bother getting a race ski. Conversely, the coach could say that you may have to correct some flaws before making the leap makes sense.
IMO, your money is far better spent on coaching than on gear.
Coaching lasts forever. Learning technique on race skiis is harder than learning on carvers.
