Snowbasin Stoke

Snowbasin has really been putting on a show this year! 16"again last night. For those of you who look at the TGR site I'm sure that you have seen the "Maggot Huck Fest" thread and the video by Trackhead both from Snowbasin this year as well. Those guys are Professional Photogs and I cannot come close to their stuff but I have a few of my kids and some scenery to share:

Those of you that have scheduled Snowbasin this year will not be disappointed. Both Christmas Day and New Years were epic bluebird powder days and it's supposed to snow all this week.

very cool 16inches of snow. so dense and fast it was like every slope at snowbird was a groomers

Nice with the deep stuff. [Both skier and rider in the family!?]

btw, don’t let Huck Fest ‘like’ products produced by some pros dissuade from further posting TR pics. Personally, I’m finding those pro shots are all looking about the same…on forums or in the rags…a bit too perfect

I'm sure it was great today, probably the best day of the year. Snowbasin has received over 3 feet since last Friday and today it was sunny for most of the day. I had to work today but I have 21 days in so far and at least 5 deep powder days . Just watched the news and we are expecting another 12" towmorrow and Wed.. This year has been truly Epic and the gathering will be really great.

It was great yesterday, bluebird, hero-snow and back to the pre holidaze crowds. Lots of good laps in berry land. Today wasn't bad either, 8" + of 2% snow on top of the barely tracked from yesterday.

Glad somebody got the goods! Here are a couple more shots:
No Name Peak - Shooting Star to be exact before they drop the ropes.

Lower DeMoisey looking very fluffy!

My buddy from work Kevin reaping the benefits of being on the Park City Patrol all through college.

Tasty... well worth a drive north...

I was there last Saturday and Sunday. Amazing skiing. They actually closed the tram (and No Name) because it was snowing so hard and not enough people were skiing it to put tracks in. My group caused several small point releases in-bounds along the John Paul lift line and on the John Paul face on Sunday.

The parking lots (and the roads) on both Saturday and Sunday were a mess. Just the reason why I drive a Ford F250 4x4 CrewCab PowerStroke!

Saw Steelman on Sunday in the JP Resturant, but due to circumstances beyond both our control, we were not able to ski together. ZZZ - missed him. He had a couple of days off.

Yes it is still nuking. 15" over night last night and according to the news 26" more during the day today. I had 18" at my place (near Weber State) and they are calling for the first snow day (tomorrow) for the kids that I can remember in many years. Snowbasin is getting so much because I sold my snowblower last summer.

DAY 49:
SKI, SHOVEL, EAT, SLEEP, SKI... REPEAT!

Skiing with the girls again today.

What a great season so far.

Thanks,

JF

Gorgeous pictures. Thanks for posting.

When I skied Snowbasin last March it was an all out nuking powder day. Just great.

The only down side to that was the scenery was not viewable due to the white out conditions.

Hope to get back there. Soon!

Are those the Flying Kangaroos? Sun is supposed to shine this weekend but it is still snowing right now. More pictures to follow.

More good stuff from Saturday. A small amount of snow over Fridat night and a little redistribution made for some primo conditions. The sun only came out a little but it was a good day!

Mount Ogden Bowl early Sat. morning

Needless to say I did not take many pictures this day. I was kind of busy if you know what I mean

Snowbasin looks like a beautiful mountain. I misses it both times I was in Utar but we'll be hitting it up in a few weeks. Hope it's looking that good when we're there.:
