I guess I'm in the minority then. Once you go from ice skiing in the east to powder, the conditions just are in your head permanently. And to those who say the east is mediocre, I think its all what you make it. Sure the east lacks a ton of the bowls, backcountry, cliffs, but mad river glen and jay peak also have some extremely cool terrain. And just because it is not the steepest or craziest line doesn't mean it can't offer a ton of fun. Ripping at mad river glenn on a good powder day is super enjoyable. I don't know, just my two cents. I just think its not fun to have to fight the mountain (in regards to conditions). We obviously want to tackle new and exciting terrain, but I don't want to beat the crap out of my skis, and have to deal with ice to crud to ice to spotty powder to man made stuff....give me the powder any day of the week, I'll make my way down the mountain with plenty of fun.
